I have fabricated nothing. Hur's report made multiple references to how befuddled Joe was during questioning, unable to remember personal details of his life, often wandering off on random tangents and having to be reminded what the question was, showing general confusion, etc. The conclusion of Hur's summary reads:

We have also considered that, at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory. Based on our direct interactions with and observations of him, he is someone for whom many jurors will want to identify reasonable doubt. It would be difficult to convince a jury that they should convict him-by then a former president well into his eighties-of a serious felony that requires a mental state of willfulness.

So the question is, if the evidence really was lacking, then why not just say so and leave it at that? Why create this additional narrative that Joe is too far gone mentally to stand up to the rigors of a trial?

How many stories do they report on that they themselves weren't able to personally verify? How many stories in any given newspaper consist of repeating what was reported elsewhere? There was no attempt to cover it fairly -- report on the contents as well as suspicions regarding them. Far too many, like NPR, simply deigned the story was unworthy of them covering it.

Maybe because to his ilk, wanting to do so is insulting.

That was the conservative Hur's gift to you his conservative friends. And if it were true, then I guess old Joe is pretty slick to have pulled that act off on Mr Hur. LOL!!!

You mean like how Bragg initially didn't think there was a case against Trump until a former aide excoriated him in public for backpaddling on his pledge to prosecute Trump?

Hur made it clear there was a case against the duffer but that it would be a waste to go after someone obviously so far out of it that a jury would feel sorry for him.

I think you insult yourself, and America, for falling for the fascist con that America isn't great.

Right, Joe snookered Hur into believing he's not playing with a full deck when we can all see with our eyes that Hur's assessment of Joe's enfeebled mental state is truthful and accurate. Have you seen the latest video of Joe in front of a crowd at the D-Day celebration in France where he literally bent over and soiled himself and had to be quickly escorted away by Jill? The guy is too far gone to even control his own bowels. He should be in a nursing home, not the White House.

Sure, if they believe the story is from a reliable source, they can report it, and just say what the source is. That obviously wasn't the case here.

No I haven't, but I also know you to have proven yourself to be a one who sees whatever it is he wants to see.
So for one, I never take your posts too seriously to begin with. And too, I would much rather the Biden that I see from day to day be my president, than the fascist, wannabe dictator, anti-democratic, treasonous coup plotter and cult leader whose con you and many others here have in your naivete fallen for.

It's not what I wanted to see, Jimmy, it's what everybody saw.

But thanks for the admission that you're uninformed and have no idea about the physical and mental state of the guy you voted for.

Oh come off it MM, we all know you would have loved to see it. But I think you saw no such thing. Some lying talking head probably fed the story to you and you, as usual, just thoughtlessly ran with it.

Or, far more likely, the story hurt the chances of getting OMB out of office and therefore they were only too eager to spike it. Don't think so? Then explain the long series of rumors that they eagerly reported on in spite of questionable sources -- all stories that they thought were damaging to OMB. No trouble at all breathlessly reporting them.
