If anything, folks like Jimmy and ox will be praised for their "loyalty" and asked to report any subversive elements (meaning Christian conservatives) that might pose a threat to the peace and safety of the country. After all, we can't have anybody voting for Trump, or opposing abortion, or attending school board meetings to object to their children being groomed in the classroom.

That would be the likely response in reality. My joke relied on the idea that merely mentioning Trump or interacting with Trump's statements makes you worth investigating as if it were a crime. Under that mentality then they have a much larger target on their backs than most Trump supporters.

It happens to me, too. My sense of humor is so dry that people can't always tell when I'm joking.

My humor tends to be considered "strange" but I can usually get people to laugh. I have more issues in understanding when others are joking much more often.

I do that too. I have a strange sense of humor and it can be dark. People sometimes take it to mean I'm laughing at them but I'm usually just laughing at the absurdity of the situation.
