Addressed it? No, you have not. Can not. There is little more on the topic than debates between practitioners. We literally can't solve this, hence thought experiment

That does not follow, intuitive moral outrage is just as valid as "rational" argument. For instance I have never come across a good rational argument against human to animal sex, yet my moral sense tells me that that is always immoral. No matter the rational arguments for or against.

show me that there is a "big debate" about this between researchers and psychologists.

That moral sense may not be enough to convince someone who does not share your immediate reaction. And as you suggested in the OP, the number of people who do not share in that immediate reaction may soon grow.

Wrong on both halves. Oh, and Mens health with some guy as the interview? Really? Get it together man. That's barely worth replying to, but I'm sure not going to bother with the FRC garbage so there we are
Fine, if my sources aren't good enough then let's see your sources proving that pornography can be successfully used to suppress sexual desires. Come on, man, prove to us that degree of yours didn't come with crayons and a gumball!

Where did I ever claim it did?

You do.... you do know what a thought experiment is right? I don't believe any of this nonsense.

                      • On the other hand, people like my grandmother are also convinced that interracial marriage is simply "unnatural". I'm not sure how I feel about this being a reliable guide for right and wrong (as opposed to religious revelation, which I think is a better guide).

Look, Dr. Clown College, when real-world research directly contradicts the premise of your "thought experiment" then it's not even worth discussing.

Generally in those situations I don't find that rational arguments convince them either. It is almost impossible to argue ethics in logical terms. What for instance is illogical about what the Hutu majority did to the ruling class Tutsi minority? We are only left with moral distaste.

Err, your source didn't contradict the premise. I didn't make fun of you for using a mens health piece until after I addressed the two primary claims made their-in and explaining why they didn't apply. It's something you would have realized yourself if you weren't a rank amateur in my field of study trying to google your way into a misplaced fight against the precursor to a thought experiment.
