One of the things that visitors really seem to love about our Church is the felling of love and unity. Our business meetings are actually fun - and when we disagree on something, we do it in almost a joking way, realizing that the most important thing is that we have the unity of the Spirit, like we see so prevalent in the book of Acts in the Early Church.

I think one of the things that turns people off is the bickering that Christians can get into -- kinda like "mommy and daddy" fighting in front of "the kids".
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Yeah, next you'll be saying all the writers of Scripture, Christ and (gosh) God are hateful twits. Gimme a break.

You're REALLY equating yourself with THEM?

Acts 5:12At the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were taking place among the people; and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s portico. 13But none of the rest dared to associate with them; however, the people held them in high esteem. 14And all the more believers in the Lord, multitudes of men and women, were constantly added to their number, 15to such an extent that they even carried the sick out into the streets and laid them on cots and pallets, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on any one of them..

People were cautious about joining the church, with its high standards. They visited, for the "bread".

3But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back some of the price of the land? 4“While it remained unsold, did it not remain your own? And after it was sold, was it not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this deed in your heart? You have not lied to men but to God.” 5And as he heard these words, Ananias fell down and breathed his last; and great fear came over all who heard of it. 6The young men got up and covered him up, and after carrying him out, they buried him.

Must be a different book of Acts.

1 Corinthians 11:1 Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.

The Church was brand new, and the power of the Spirit was quite evident. Have you seen anybody drop dead lately for lying to the Spirit?

On the other hand, the Church was afraid of letting Paul join -- Barnabas had to vouch for him.

              So, what's your point?

And he was addressing US. Gosh, it's so frustrating, now I know how he and Jesus felt.

That's why people leave the church. It isn't like the one in Acts.

I think I'm going to leave you to your immature games.

                      God bless!

Jesus told Peter He was building His church (Matthew 16:18). [ Not anyone else's.]
. . . the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; . . . -- Romans 1:16 KJV

. . . that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: . . . -- 1 Corinthians 15:3-4 KJV

Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: . . . -- 1 John 5:1 KJV
