  • Biden Would Enter 2016 Race As Most Popular Candidate: Poll

Joe Biden hasn't yet announced his plans for a 2016 White House bid, but a new poll shows that he would enter the race as the most popular presidential candidate if he chose to toss his hat into the ring.

According to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll, 40 percent of Americans have a positive impression of Biden, while 28 percent have a negative impression (+12).

That's compared to fellow Democrats Bernie Sanders (+10) and Hillary Clinton (-8), and to top-tier GOP candidates Ben Carson (+8), Carly Fiorina (+7) and Donald Trump (-33).

Biden would also out-perform Clinton in hypothetical head-to-head general election matchups against top Republican presidential hopefuls.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

    • Is this a thread I started? I was saying that in early August, why would I have waited until August 31? And what I always said was, "Hillary is dead meat."

I'm the guilty one! Must be because I hate women.

            No, Starlight was right.
Obama hates Clinton, being that she was the first "Birther" (the mantra Trump later picked up that Obama was born in Kenya), plus he wants someone more liberal than himself to succeed him--Biden apparently. As White, he'd be able to get more legislation passed, without objection from Tea Party racists.

Yeah, because they'll give their stamp of approval to legislation they find repugnant if a white person pushes it

Prospective canidates are always more popular before they actually get into the race. I suspect if Biden decides to enter the race it will help Sanders bid.

I think Biden's popularity is largely because we haven't seen hide nor hair of him for many, many months. Remember, Hillary was pretty darn popular until she opened her mouth. Just wait until Biden starts getting himself some publicity and I guarantee his favorables will drop, especially if he does his Racist Joe routine.

Biden is a much more likable person than Hillary even if he is prone to making a gaffe-a-minute and a lot of inappropriate touching. Also their is a good deal of sympathy for him over the recent loss of his son. But yes, like any other politician, his numbers will likely drop after he announces his intent to run (if he does).

                    • His numbers will drop, as will Sanders', as soon as voters get serious about whether they want to elect as POTUS a man who would be 82 by the time of leaving office after eight years. They're both my age or older, and believe me, it matters!
I'm for Jim Webb for Dem nomination and over any conceivable Republican.
(I was enamored of Trump for a while, but he is a boor, no gentleman at all, I can't stomach any man who has no respect or sympathy for women.)

I'm wondering if the loss of his son sobers* him up a bit. The death of a child often changes us.

This has not been his first loss. His wife and three-year-old daughter were killed in a car accident shortly after he was elected a U.S. Senator. From all accounts that profoundly affected him and many thought he would resign before his term ended.

Lord help us if that bloviating gasbag socialist becomes President.

Economics is first and foremost (second is the ever-rising radical Islamic threat), and check out Bernie B.S. Sanders' personal wealth.

Do you want an idiot like that in charge of economic policy?

                            • Fortunately Democrats have the perfect alternative candidate.
James Webb was U. S. Senator from Virginia from 2007 to 2013 as a Democrat.
As a Reagan Republican he was Secretary of the Navy and Undersecretary of Defense.
He resigned based on principle, an unusual stance for a politician.
He wrote something like ten novels, mostly about his service as a U. S. Marine in Viet Nam.
He's the dream candidate. Maybe he would be doing better running as a Republican.
Did I mention he's against the Iran Nuclear Deal?
That he's against the TPP (Trans Pacific Partnership)?
That he voted against Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rove, and Limbaugh against invading Iraq (while Hillary voted "yes")?

Absolutely no one is better fitted to be Commander-in-Chief

I am. I promise a chicken in every pot, to kiss hands and shake babies and take a nap for the next 4 years and not do a dang thing.
