No one says shout your tonsillectomy though. And Jiml is still dumber than an embryo!Embryos start moving 51-53 days post fertilization

Many brain-dead patients have spontaneous movements such as jerking of fingers or bending of toes that can be disturbing to family members and health care professionals and even cause them to question the brain-death diagnosis. These movements occur in 39 percent of brain-dead patients, according to a study published in the January 11 issue of Neurology, the scientific journal of the American Academy of Neurology.
So, now that your argument has been dismantled you are going to reveal to us that that argument wasn't actually that important to you, right?

I'm sure she would have felt much better if you explained it wasn't a baby.
A mother calling the growing life in her belly a baby is expressing hope/enthusiasm. Anyone who feels the need to lecture her about the correct terminology needs to be slapped. And yet the fact that mothers do this without being corrected gives some people the false impression that zygotes and fetuses are both babies.
The former never is, and there's some point at which calling an early term fetus a baby is inaccurate.
Some pet owners treat their pets as people, and no one feels the need to lecture them, because everyone recognizes what's going on...Last edited by Whateverman; 06-17-2020, 06:41 PM.

Originally posted by Christianbookworm View PostWell, if you keep a brain dead human on life support, nothing happens. But a zygote(well, blastocyst by the time he/she makes it there) in a womb, if the little one implants well, will in nine months be a full term newborn. If that newborn is well cared for, in 18-25 years(males take longer to develop) they have a fully developed brain. So, it's more that the embryo will have a working brain. And Jiml was claiming the brain didn't work until 25 weeks, which is bunk. It's a gradual process that takes decades to finish. It takes 27 months of development(9 months of pregnancy plus 18 months after) for a zygote to gain self awareness(recognize themselves in a mirror). Would that mean it's okay to kill a twelve month old since they don't have the ability to realize it's them in the mirror? And a brain dead 20 week fetus would be stillborn(and the corpse taken out ASAP).

By the way, where do you even get 25 weeks? Don't think any neurological milestone happens then. Just more nerve cells.Last edited by Christianbookworm; 06-17-2020, 06:20 PM.If it weren't for the Resurrection of Jesus, we'd all be in DEEP TROUBLE!

That article made it clear those movements were SPINAL REFLEXES. Hardly cognitive functions. And that's an awfully tiny group they studied. Try again.
