That Russia is trying to do what they can to destabilize western democracies is well know, including the US. The fact the made efforts to influence people to vote for Trump in 2016 is also well known.

But Trump isn't Tea Party either. They supported principles like fiscal conservatism, a reduction of national debt etc.

Trump's approach has been just as nihilistic toward Tea Party values as it has been to Reagan style conservatism.

I don't understand this statement. The person who takes the President's place if the President is impeached, is the Vice Present. The CT editorial didn't need to tell us who should take his place, because nobody gets a choice in the matter.

Does Dobson mean they didn't tell us which Republicans ought to run for the Presidency in 2020 if Trump isn't there as an incumbent? Surely it's not a CT editorial board's business to endorse any specific candidate this far out? Or is Dobson implying that the Republicans literally have nobody at all who can do it, and that there are no possible worthy Republican candidates? That last seems a pretty harsh claim against the Republican party (and against Mike Pence, Nikki Haley, John Kasich, Mitt Romney etc who all seem like seriously possible options).

Trump rallies are just bizarre. A president that needs weekly shots of adulation is just plain weird. And it was, in fact, a thing that Mussolini and Hitler both share in common with Mr Trump.
