I've never seen the Wire (I think Christians have no business watching it) so can't speak to that. The demographics of the district look okay: https://www.biggestuscities.com/demo...ional-district I wish I could find info on crime rates by district.

I think that'll change before too long.

When AOC's campaign manager attacked Sharice Davids, the House Democrats' official Twitter account invoked race in defending Davids.

I can't think of any good reason a Christian shouldn't watch The Wire.

Yeah, like I said, looks like it includes West Baltimore, specifically Harlem Park which is where a lot of The Wire was filmed.

The only time I ever saw The Wire was when I was walking through the room while my mom was watching it and I saw a penis on screen as part of some sexting scene or something. Not a good introduction. My understanding is that the earliest Christians avoided the theater altogether to avoid participating in sin; my suggested compromise is to at least avoid entertainment that graphically portrays sinful activity.

However, I'm going to admit that I have been wrong in most of this thread. Cummings district does include part of the city of Baltimore. I still don't think that exonerates Trump from charges of racism (at some point, with enough tweets, it seems less plausible to look at everything in the best possible light) but that does weaken the argument I've been using.

Seriously, it's looking like a liberal can't do ANYTHING without seeing "race".

Speaking of reading minds... where do you get that I think "a lack of precision can somehow insulate him from criticism"? Also, the very charge of racism necessitates reading his mind in this case, yes?

You seemed to be posing it as a deflection in response to my earlier post, yes?

Yes, I agree. I don't think it can be absolutely proved absent an outright admission to that effect. I do think we can observe a pattern of statements that make it less likely to read every subsequent statement in the most charitable light possible.

much more violent and sexual than anything you'll find in a show like The Wire. I believe stories can help us grow in knowledge and wisdom in all sorts of intellectual and spiritual ways. Furthermore, while early Christians avoided theater, Paul seemed familiar enough with them, quoting the Athenian Meander's play Thais. Paul may have even watched Thais

For the record, I'm not particularly defending Trump from the accusation of racism, just pointing out what I know about West Baltimore.

Er, I assumed you were correct before - you usually are - but now I don't think so:

Baltimore Sun - includes district map

                          District Seven Map

Cummings' district clearly includes a large part of Baltimore proper - it is not a suburban only district.
