Isn't this largely about climate change? That they are raising gas prices to to lessen the use of fossil fuels? Aren't the leftists here conflicted?

but the Macron government raised its hydrocarbon tax this year by 7.6 cents per litre on diesel and 3.9 cents on petrol, as part of a campaign for cleaner cars and fuel.

The decision to impose a further increase of 6.5 cents on diesel and 2.9 cents on petrol on 1 January 2019 was seen as the final straw
    .

But as starlight dutifully informed us these new fuel taxes which are part of Macron's "campaign for cleaner cars and fuel" are part of his "economically extremely right-wing" policies.

I'm always still in trouble again

So raising fuel prices to address climate change is now a right wing position? Has the world turn upside down?

We're talking about what someone who claims (say it with me now) that Joseph Stalin was a right winger (and even tried to defend the claim)

I wonder if Star could name any left wing dictator? Or is that an oxymoron in his world.

It's the classic "tax not me and tax not thee - tax that man behind that tree". Leftists want others to live right, but not when it impacts their own wallet.

That's how it started out. Now, it's morphed into a protest on rising costs and stagnant wages in general. People tired of being broke by the middle of the month. Yet they still don't get that socialism and higher taxes are basically the cause of why they are out of money by the 15th.

All around France, the protests left three dead and more than 260 wounded, with more than 400 arrested. Mr. Macron convened a crisis cabinet meeting, weighing whether to impose a state of emergency.

But, chillax!!! It's only a few cars!

And Macron is an idiot too. He doesn't care about what they are actually protesting about as long as he can get his policies pushed through.

This really smacks of the "Occupy" movement, which may be why Starlight is so defensive of it.

The raising of fuel costs in the name of climate change seems to be the last straw. How do the alarmists think people are going to react?

Why, it's going to make the people realize the seriousness of the situation because they're hearing it in their own languages, and there will be thousands added to the church daily!
