Forceful rebuke? favored by the Republican Party?
Democrats won in states that are normally Democrat controlled states. How is that a rebuke? And not even by a huge margin.
And notice the Republicans didn't throw hissy fits and start rioting in the streets or crying for their safe spaces. Nor did they accuse the Democrats of cheating or collusion.
But I guess you have to squeeze every drop of satisfaction out of it that you can to salve your ego, right Tassy?
