No one talks about giving all away. Does being "American first" allow for neglecting Jim's point about what has happened in the past? America first and the poorest of last?

Okay, so whats your re-placement plan? Ignore it? You guys are great at the repeal game, but you never seem to have workable replacement solutions. Whats up with that? Simply declaring you're "American first," or questioning "who decides what's fair" isn't a solution to the problem. Or are you still a climate change denier who believes the whole thing is a hoax?

What are Russia, India and China doing about lowering pollution and carbon emissions, nothing, they are increasing them and expecting America to pay them for it. Until they get serious about this you and they have no right to steal money from America who has been doing it since the Kyoto Protocols

We are already 20 trillion dollars in debt Charles, and I have no idea what that last line means.

There is no problem Jim that we are not addressing, we are already doing our share in reducing Co2. Period.

Duh! China has been serious about this since the Kyoto Protocols as well. As a matter of fact it is because of the commitment and efforts between the U.S. and China to reduce the rate C02 emmissions since that time that paved the way for the Paris Accords. RumTum you have no idea what you are talking about, at least educate yourself a little bit first concerning your accusations instead of trying to sound as though you are educated.

No, Jim China has done some, but by 2020 China will still have three times the total coal-fired capacity that the United States does.

India is still going gangbusters on coal, with little future slow down.

Thats not what I asked you seer. I asked you what your solution to the problem is. The U.S. doing its share isn't by itself going to get the job done. How would you go about getting the other 195 countries to commit to doing what they need do in order to reach the intended goal. Or do you just say the hell with it?

Jim, they already signed the agreement - the US is not going to make a difference as whether they follow it or not. We can't force them, and we are already 20 trillion in debt.

Thats because you have a simplistic understanding of the prioblem. Each country is different, each have different obstacles to overcome in reducing emissions. China and India, unlike the U.S., are still undeveloped countries and don't have the ability to reduce emmissions as quickly as the U.S. can. China's Co2 emissions, unlike that of the U.S., are not expected to peak until 2020, but in the meantime the rate of emissions are on the decrease due to their efforts in that regard. They, i.e. China and India, are far more dependent on fossil fuels than the U.S. is, just like many other undeveloped countries are, so you can't expect the same rates of reduction in those and other countries as in the U.S. In other words, your argument that the U.S. is doing their part while other countries aren't is a simplistic understanding of whats going on.

Actually YOU put Trump in the White House. He wouldn't have gotten 1% of the vote if it wasn't for the widespread spiritual and cultural devastation caused by progressive policies. There's no "this country" left with your immigration policies, your "allies" are worthless and even more suicidal than you are and democracy is a sick joke that I hope nobody ever thinks about repeating when the current order collapses. - Darth_Executor striking a conciliatory note in Civics 101

Yep, generally there are 4 main sources of emissions: Electricity production, industrial factories, cars, agriculture. And what different countries can / can't easily improve on varies.

Here in NZ our per-person emissions are quite high but reducing them is a bit of a problem. Our electricity grid is already 80% renewables due to a lot of hydro power so there's limited scope for improving its CO2 emissions. Industrial factories aren't a large CO2 contributor here AFAIK. Cars... yes I think more could be done to build better public transport systems but really until electric cars become widespread you're not going to see a great deal of improvement in this sector. Agriculture... well agricultural production is one of the primary things the country produces... we can't really just stop producing and selling food and the way agriculture is done here is already very CO2 efficient compared to other countries (e.g. the US where it is very inefficient) so it's actually good to produce food here and then export it.

So the biggest scope for improvement here seems to be a move to electric cars, and the govt has a plan to install electric charging stations around the country over the next few years. Hopefully electric cars will become cost efficient and mainstream in the next decade.

Whereas those countries who currently use coal as their primary source of electricity have an easier path to lowering CO2 emissions.

Right, but the point remains as far as Co2 output.
