That really was a stupid fauxpology by Brainless Joe. Calling someone a "stupid <SOB>" cannot possibly be anything BUT "personal."
And it was clearly not a "hot mic" situation.
I suppose it *could* have been intended as "humor," but hard to believe it was not mean-spirited.Geislerminian Antinomian Kenotic Charispneumaticostal Gender Mutualist-Egalitarian.

I'm sure that was "jokingly" as well.
Old Joe also claims that it is a quote from a John Wayne movie. In something like 160 movies, Wayne never said anything even close to that.

In sharp contrast to how the MSM reacted whenever Trump was less than civil, the MSM is commiserating with old Joe after his most recent angry outburst.
The word of the day that appears to have been agreed upon is "frustrated," as in poor old Joe was just frustrated. Like when CBS declares how old Joe "has occasionally become frustrated with reporters' questions."
What is funny is that while showing sympathy for old Joe both Kelly O'Donnell and Mary Bruce (the White House correspondents for NBC and ABC) noted that old Joe was "frustrated" about reporters asking questions about Ukraine during a press conference concerning the economy. The delicious irony is that Doocy's question was on topic. His question was about the economy.
So, trying to blame old Joe's angry grumbling on the reporters straying off topic doesn't wash. If that were the case, then Biden should have welcomed the chance to address what he wanted to talk about. But instead we got an angry old man muttering to himself.
Whatever the case, the MSM has pretty much excused frustrated old Joe with many blaming Doocy.
The New Yorker, for instance, characterized it as old Joe "just frustrated with another leading question from Doocy" and then sniffed, "it’s a reminder that members of the executive branch swear."
But we can always count on CNN to take it a dozen steps further.
On CNN Newsroom, host Brian Stelter repeatedly called Doocy's question "less a question and more a provocation" and "that question was more of a provocation." Later Stelter, approvingly quoted Obama's former advisor Ben Rhodes, "What Fox News has done to this country is infinitely more offensive than anything Biden has said" adding "That’s why so many Democrats were cheering for Biden when he was heard on this microphone yesterday insulting Peter Doocy."

Which brings up an excellent question --- why didn't the Capitol Police give those rioters "space to destroy" and "understand their frustration"?The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

What is more important is do they, in the face of difficult questions from the press, remain committed to the idea that the Free Press is a necessary constitutional construct, and that dealing with stupid, annoying, challenging or otherwise difficult questions from the press is just part of the job of being the President of a free republic like the USA.
