Biden phones Peter Doocy to 'clear the air' after calling Fox reporter 'stupid son of a *****'

Fox News's Peter Doocy got a call from President Joe Biden after the commander in chief called him "a stupid son of a bitch" Monday for asking a question about inflation.

The White House correspondent discussed the conversation during an appearance on Sean Hannity's show, saying he got a call from Biden on his personal cellphone about an hour after the remark and that they "went back and forth."

"It's nothing personal, pal," the president said, according to Doocy. Pressed by Hannity, Doocy declined to say whether it was an apology, as CNN reported, but noted that Biden sought to "clear the air" and said it was "a nice call."

Doocy said he didn't need an apology and noted Biden could call him whenever he wants "as long as it gets him talking."

"I made sure to tell him that I'm always going to try to ask something different than what everybody else is asking, and he said, 'You've got to,'"Doocy added, noting that he appreciated Biden taking time for the call as the crisis in Ukraine looms.

The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

No apologies were offered and Doocy shrugged that off saying that old Joe doesn’t "need anybody to apologize to me" and that what was said was "enough" and that it was time to "move on."

That was a nice change of pace from what we heard from nearly all of the reporters who sparred with Trump.

I'm always still in trouble again

"You're by far the worst poster on TWeb" and "TWeb's biggest liar" --starlight (the guy who says Stalin was a right-winger)
"Overall I would rate the withdrawal from Afghanistan as by far the best thing Biden's done" --Starlight
"Of course, human life begins at fertilization that’s not the argument." --Tassman

Peter is proving he's a class act.

One of The View shrews, Joy[less] Behar says that she thinks Doocy will "lose his job at Fox" for being graceful about it and that

he's not clutching his pearls and yelling about it. And he’ll be fired pretty soon.

Meanwhile Whoopie Goldburg defended Biden's muttering angry old man display by saying he's just a "human being" giving a response to Doocy's "endless stupid questions."

Maybe they don't realize he's Steve's very own Golden Boy, and Steve was there from the beginning.

Forgot about that. I've always been very meh toward the father when I saw him.

And it was actually a very good political question too. He wasn't asking Biden if he thought inflation (which Biden stupidly called "an asset") was good or bad.

I believe there was sarcasm. Like "Hey, did it hurt when you got hit by the 90MPH baseball at the plate?" "No, it tickled. What a stupid question"

Maybe, or maybe it was legit question. Kind of like "Hey, are you going to change batting strategies next time you get a fast ball to avoid getting injured, or just more of the same?"

I'm not saying his question wasn't legit. I was saying that I interpreted Biden's comment as sarcasm like that I made up.

I have trouble believing that Joe's bitter retort, delivered when he thought nobody would hear, was intended with good humour.

Yes, when Fox News first aired, I thought "Get RID of loosey Doocey!" but Peter does him proud

In light of other situations where he snapped at reporters, or made dumb "hot mic" statements.

                            Sarcasm isn't always good humor.

I didn't think anyone was arguing Biden's comment wasn't sarcasm. I guess that's what threw me.
