HA's comment also makes one ponder: most widows shouldn’t be getting pregnant. Unless one assumes that a woman's husband dies during their pregnancy or shortly after the child is born.

Divorced women also shouldn’t be getting pregnant after being divorced.

Hence, maternity leave should be moot.

Also they don't take into account that a small business employer might favor an older woman or a man over a younger woman because they won't have to worry about her getting pregnant and having to pay them for 12 weeks while simultaneously having to hire a temp to replace them. This means younger child-bearing women will end up being discriminated against even more!

And women should marry MEN, because two women just multiply the problem!

She may be pregnant and be left a widow through accident or illness. Has that ever crossed your mind?

You've obviously ignored the rest of my post.

She can't understand such words, unfortunately. Remember she spent several hundred posts failing to understand what a single biggest determining factor was.

Of course the German doesn't. Big government authoritarianism seems to be written in your DNA.

Do you want to apply that stereotype to France, Italy, Spain, Finland, The Netherlands, Hungary, Poland, Mexico, Bulgaria, Belgium, Iceland, Eire, New Zealand, Japan, Australia, Canada, UK, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and Greece?

Given most of those seem to love big, paternalistic government, sure. But Germans seem to have a uniquely intense love of such things.
