Carlson just seems a bit, um, sensationalistic?

Question?
At the end of the trial, as the judge was addressing the jury, Kyle walked out of the courtroom. Had he been dismissed by the judge? Just wondering why he left at that particular moment......

Yes, immediately after the verdict was read, the judge announced that Kyle was free to go. It's not unusual, then, for the judge to address the jury. Kyle was no longer under the authority of the judge at that point, but the jury had not yet been dismissed.

The judge doesn't appear to actually tell Kyle he's free to go.
However, in our courts, it's pretty much a foregone conclusion that a "not guilty" verdict releases the defendant. It was obviously his attorneys (Kyle was kinda hyperventilating still) who let Kyle know it's over and he was free to go.The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I don't blame the poor kid for getting out of there as fast as he could.
