More than two-thirds say inflation causing them to change spending habits: poll

President Biden's poll numbers keep heading in the wrong direction.

The president’s approval rating stands at 36%, with disapproval at 53% in a new Quinnipiac University national poll. That’s the president’s lowest level of public support in Quinnipiac polling since taking over in the White House in January.

Biden’s approval edged down a point and his disapproval trickled up a point from Quinnipiac’s October survey.
And so goes the pendulum ... again.

Things get bad, voters go for conservatives to bring back the better times. Things improve, voters get complacent and go for liberals with their lofty, empty promises. Things go bad again, voters go back to conservatives. And on and on and on.

      Pretty much, yeah.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

I didn't realize this was an older thread and was shocked that it was over 50% to begin with.

I wonder if the decline in Biden's approval rating is related to a decline in people's belief Biden is physically and mentally healthy enough for the job. https://www.politico.com/news/2021/1...pproval-522785

The current poll shows only 40% of Americans believe Biden is fit for the job. In October 2020, the poll had percentage was 69% Biden fit for the job.

In the article there is link to another article (a bit old having been posted in June 2021) about Democrats becoming concerned with their party being a gerontocracy. https://www.politico.com/news/2021/0...members-496203 The specific case is about a Florida House rep who was 84 and battling pancreatic cancer but ran for reelection, won, and then died in April 2021. It did mention that of 12 House members over 80, 10 are Democrats. Not sure what this means other than are the Democratic leaders drifting out of touch with what's happening. It could explain why so many still think it's the 60's and racial discrimination is worse than it really is.

We've had several more months of him walking away aimlessly forcing Jill to go round him up, speaking incoherently, farting uncontrollably, and generally acting like a doddering geezer who should be taking it easy in a rest home.

As for older Democrats thinking racism is worse than it is... they lived through the 50s and 60s. They knew from first hand experience how bad it often was. And they've seen for themselves how much things have changed. So I'm not buying that.

I'm always still in trouble again
