There is no confusion but you are attempting to answer an unasked question

I had a teacher like that once. He was a certified genius, an exceptional piano player, could speak four languages fluently, and was by all accounts a brilliant lighting director who had worked all over the world doing stage, film, and television productions. The problem is he was so far above us students that he had trouble explaining things in simple enough terms that we could easily understand, and he would get very grumpy if he was asked to explain something more than once. I also found it amusing that as smart as he was, he had trouble figuring out how to operate a simple VCR. Whenever he wanted to eject a tape, he would randomly push every button on the machine until the tape popped out, and he would do this every single time.

Did Einstein teach gym? I never knew.

So, you buy into the dumb jock stereotype? Or are you saying that people who want to teach kids to be healthy and active are dumb?

One of the best teachers I had in High Skewl was also the girl's basketball coach.

One of my brother's closest friends was on the honor roll and National Honor Society for four straight years, graduating with honors and who is also in baseball's Hall of Fame.

Do keep up at the back! I was quoting Woody Allen - who added a rather witty conclusion to that well known saying.

Oh, so you are saying you find negative stereotypes about jocks to be funny.

Sort of that whole "I didn't say the racist joke, I just thought it was funny" type of defense.

So if Woody Allen had made a jocular remark stereotyping gays/blacks/women... would you be so eager to share it?

                              Yes.

In the same way [given that Woody Allen's remark occurred in one of his films ] that I find his negative stereotypes about "Nazi" types funny. Or the remark made by Annie in Annie Hall that he [Allen in character] looks like a real Jew!

The ability to laugh at oneself or one's nation/heritage is a valuable attribute.

In the context of one of his movies, why not?
