That's more than just not being PC. That's what you'd normally call being a sociopath if it were anyone else other than a royal elitist.Atheism is the cult of death, the death of hope. The universe is doomed, you are doomed, the only thing that remains is to await your execution...

I suppose the British tax payers can be grateful they have one less idle scrounger to pay for out of the public purse.
I daresay it will also shift the populist gaze from Northern Ireland.

I dunno how much luxury he had after being exiled from Greece. I guess it's all relative. And idle? Um, no.
And was it a lie that his mother Princess Alice protected some Jews from the Nazis....and was named Righteous among the Nations and allowed to be interred in Israel?
Prince Phillip was a real abrasive guy, true. Rude. I grant that. But I don't get why all the criticisms about all the other family members even before he's buried when he wasn't responsible for their behavior. Or am I missing something about his culpability?

The Anglo-German royals produced [as does every very large blood related group] a mixture of individuals some more able intellectually than others. Frederick the Great and Prince Albert come to mind along with Albert's daughter Vicky [mother of the Kaiser]. Unfortunately none of that passed on to Philip.
His mother, as I noted, was an exception in many ways but appears to have been a source of embarrassment for other members of the family because she did not "conform".
I think many Brits [and certainly many Germans] regard Philip [and his brood] as nothing but an anachronistic group of hangers-on who still take money from the public purse despite the fact that their own private fortunes [in his wife's case probably billions] could easily pay for their lifestyles. The interference by both Brenda and Brian [aka the Queen and Charles] over emendations of draft legislation that may impact adversely upon them and/or their financial concerns has also raised serious concerns about just how much power this unelected and unaccountable family still wields.
At the end of the day the simple fact is that a very old rich man has died. Human sympathy goes to his widow because to lose a partner is a terrible thing.
However, that really is all there is to it.
He did not have a "life of service" as the British press is constantly maintaining.
He did absolutely nothing except help [along with his wife] to produce another dysfunctional generation in a family that has been dysfunctional for generations.

Either you are holding to one rule for you and another for me [hypocrisy] or you are a rather prurient "nosey-parker".
