Hillary Clinton lock to win the Dem nomination"
Says Charles Krauthammer's title in his column Saturday.
"Unless she's indicted."
But I never believe this Fox pundit.
He's as evil and deceptive as George Will.
"Clinton has no competition."
"She remains a lousy candidate but she is an excellent debater."
"The other three candidates hardly registered."
See how the extremes touch? Anderson Cooper rigged the debate in favor of Clinton and against Jim Webb, and Kraut goes even farther by never mentioning Webb at all.
Oh, this devil is clever all right. He quotes Leo Durocher.
" 'Nice guys finish last.' Sanders will finish second, which in this case is the same thing."
And this lie:
"She's up against three ciphers..." even though Jim Webb got the Navy Cross as a lieutenant in Viet Nam, wrote ten books, as a Republican (that makes Webb a traitor to Kraut) under Reagan was Assistant Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the Navy, and from 2007 to 2013 now as a Democrat was a very effective and respected Senator from Virginia--probably the best qualifications for POTUD we have ever had!Near the Peoples' Republic of Davis, south of the State of Jefferson (Suspended between Left and Right)

Jim Webb may (also) be a nice guy, but he's barely registering in the polls. You're letting your imagination run wild; there's no need to conspire to bury a candidate who's not a serious contender in the first place.

I don't understand that comment. There used to be a significant difference between the parties, and over the last decade or so the gulf between them has become immense.
It used to be that the Republicans were generally more pro-guns, pro-war, anti-abortion, pro lower-taxes-for-the-rich, anti too much social security and (non-military) government spending, anti regulation of business, pro-corruption, anti-immigrant, and anti-gay. (With the democratic party by and large taking the opposite view on most of those issues) That wasn't a platform I agreed with any part of, but it was a coherent platform that is a fairly common standard among many right-wing conservative parties around the world.
However, the Republican party substantially changed in the years after Reagan, and more recently with the rise of the Tea Party. The Republican party has basically gone insane and lost almost all connection with reality. It's no longer interested in governance and basically now wants to destroy all government in America, wreck the country, and invade half the rest of the world. This has led to the saner Republicans either abandoning ship in favor of the Democratic party or simply getting primaried. So someone like Jim Webb who served in the Reagan administration, is now in the Democratic party. Likewise Lincoln Chafee who spent most of his life in the Republican party abandoned ship in favor of the Democratic party because his own party moved out from under him. In other times either of them would have made a very reasonable Republican president.
So where there was previously a fair amount of difference between the two parties, there's now a massive amount of difference. One has gone insane, the other hasn't. Sure, from my point of view, the Democratic party is pretty right-wing at times, and I don't agree with a lot of their policies. But the difference between them and the Republicans is pretty much day and night. One pays attention to reality, and to facts, and to the real world, and comes up with policy solutions and attempts to govern. The other isn't interested in reality or facts, and lives in an imaginary world of propaganda and lies, and attempts to sabotage and defund almost every part of the government and is doing its best to destroy government, default on debt, and plunge America into another civil war, when it's not busy war-mongering as to which foreign country to invade next."I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump

The qpq standard so favors the employee that many, if not most, companies themselves prohibit or highly discourage employee/supervisor relationships. The law doesn't prohibit them per se, but it creates a hostile legal environment that causes many employers to do just exactly that.Rogue is incorrect to say the law prohibits it. Meanwhile, in the Republican primary...
Trump repeatedly attacks Jeb Bush for his brother letting 9/11 happen and not keeping the American people safe. (For once, surprisingly, Trump actually seems to be right on the facts. The information that has come out over time has showed that the CIA repeatedly warned the Bush administration that Bin Laden was intending to attack the US, and the Bush administration decided he was "just posturing" and decided that the real threat was Iraq, so they told the CIA to focus on Iraq, and the CIA got very frustrated with trying to repeatedly tell the non-responsive Bush officials that the threat from Bin Laden was real and serious and that his people were already in the country. If the Bush administration had taken the CIA seriously it seems highly likely 9/11 could have been prevented.)
Rand Paul has been told to drop out and defend his senate seat, because he can't run for senate if he's running for President, and the Republicans might lose the senate soon and need every single seat they can hold on to.
Ben Carson appears to be utterly obsessed (video) with Hitler and the Nazis.
Meanwhile, serious people are admitting Donald Trump may well actually win the Republican nomination. Trump has led in the polls for longer than the time remaining in the primaries. Trump, however, polls the worst of any of the major Republican candidates in match-ups against the Democratic candidates.Last edited by Starlight; 10-20-2015, 02:37 AM."I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
