Pretty sure I heard President Trump say something like that a few months ago.
Hell, that's what anyone with a brain was saying within the first month of "two weeks to flatten the curve".

What is mentally incomprehensible is that you actually think that Republicans have any sort of majority in the state of New York. And remember, according to you and the mental gymnastics you employ to rationalize it, Stalin is a right winger.

All the police departments in the state have to submit a reform plan sometime this year. If he doesn't like the plan, I believe the department will get a state funding cut. Not sure what the reforms are going to look like but in fairness I don't think Cuomo has directly endorsed defund the police.

When you think about it, for the first months of Covid, Cuomo was getting a lot of favorable coverage on how he was handling the virus. He was certainly portrayed as the un-Trump.

Looks like it went to his head and he frittered away all that good will he had including with the media. He's up for reelection in 2022. Will be interested to see if he faces a significant primary challenge (I predict yes).

It seems he still has a great deal on support and admiration. I mean they actually awarded him an Emmy for his news briefings.

It's amazing how absolutely ignorant you are about your own country. And it's astounding that you're so dumb you didn't even bother to google this before wrongly trying to correct me.

Republicans, or a coalition with the IDC in which Republicans comprised the majority, have been in control of the New York State Senate for the majority of the last decade.

You apparently fail to understand that, much like the U.S. Congress, the NY Senate is but one part of a bicameral legislature. And then there is this thing called the "governor" which is the leader of the state's executive branch.

IOW, oh wise sage of all things American, having occasional control of one of the two houses of the legislature, while the assembly (the lower house) has been completely controlled by the Democrats since 1975 and the governorship has been in Democrat control since 2007 (Republicans have only been governor for something like 13 of the last 50 years) hardly constitutes Republicans having "a majority in NY state."

So excuse me but the words "pompous", "arrogant" and "ignorant" are currently springing to mind.

The irony is that all of that adoration was happening while he was packing infected people into nursing homes where they were dying by the thousands, leading to New York having by far the highest China flu death toll in the country.

This is like the kid getting his face pounded into the dirt who staggers to his feet and yells, "There's more where that came from!"

This would be hilarious if it weren't so pathetic.

Go back to watching your TYT videos and Hollyweird movies and pretending that they provide you with all you will ever need to know about the U.S. You're like the person who reads a two page article in a magazine who then thinks they're now an expert on the subject discussed and just too full of themselves to ever admit that they really only have the barest, most basic understanding of it while ignoring the fact that they are nothing but a laughing stock whenever they start pontificating on it and exposing their abysmal ignorance for all to see.
