Personally, I think this is been the nutters at "Occupy", and they finally are allowing their identity to be used in the name.

I think there's a power struggle within the "zone" over what to call it and who's in charge.

I'll always have a soft spot for people who want to make an independent society. The chances of it working and surviving are just very, very small.

I would have a less hard time if these people had created their own "independent society" rather than steal it from their neighbors.

I'll always have a soft spot for people who want to make an independent society. The chances of it working and surviving are just very, very small.

Agreed on both. And in a world where so many are apathetic about politics and don't even vote, I'll always have a soft spot for people who actually care enough to be active on the subject. In a world full of drudgery and normality I have a soft spot for those who dream big, who think outside the box. Most new ideas fail. But some, a very small number, succeed. And so new ideas are worth trying.

It's amazing how many liberals give lip service to "understanding this", yet when they come to that liberal's neighborhood, it's, "well, hold on just a minute...."

I'm sure I would find it interesting to wander down, get a coffee from their coffee-stand, peruse the books in their book-swap, and chat with some of the people there about what they're doing.
