The Biden team should be continuously collecting these tidbits and forging attack ads out of them.

Of course, Biden is not exactly known for having the best of governors on his mouth either.

Based on what I have seen and know of Trump, I have to admit that I am not confident he is that kind of person. I suspect, based on the level of corruption I have already seen, that he would have a price at which he would most likely justify this kind of action. He doesn't appear to have much of a moral compass.

But that's a guess. It way well be influenced by my revulsion for this man and almost everything he stands for.
I think he has a compulsion to be liked -- mostly by himself -- but a lot of the stupid things he says are to stroke his own ego, not to purposely cause harm to others.

All attributes of Donald Trump as witnessed by his own words.

Yeah...not so much. He does do a lot of ego stroking, but he is also a vindictive person who clearly enjoys bullying. Someone who enjoys bullying has already started down the path of enjoying doing harm to others, leaving only the question: "how much motivation is needed to escalate the harm and just how far would he go?"

Sure, which gets him "liked" by his defenders.

But I know you don't believe he would actually round up 900 people and purposefully have them drink deadly toxins.

AFAICT, CP, Trump has been bullying most of his life in one venue or another. I'm sure the adulation of his defenders is a welcome addition, but I have no cause to believe that was his initial motivation.

What I am saying is I have no basis for thinking the man has a boundary. The best I can do is "I don't know." The fact is he enjoys bullying. A bully enjoys hurting others. Under the right inducement, that behavior will escalate. I see no sign of a moral compass that would place a boundary on this behavior for him. So where I would say, "absolutely not" for most people you ask this question about, the best I can do with Trump is "I don't know." I think it is entirely possible he would. It is also possible he wouldn't.

And that is not a screaming endorsement of Trump by any means. It's pretty sad that I have to answer "I don't know."

                    • In context, yes, he wasn't suggesting anybody try it on their own. But given that in the past people still have interpreted similar comments as direct suggestions, he really shouldn't have said it this time.

And the entire idea is basically stupid. How on earth did we get to the point where the occupant of the Oval Office doesn't know that disinfectants are poisons to the human body?

                            • So does anyone still think it's a good idea for a semi-literate politician that occupies the oval office to make medical suggestions from the podium? After the mess with chloroquine and hydroxychloroquine, you'd think people would learn.
