It is not fear mongering - it is the reality of what he has done. His colossal and continual mismanagement of the current crisis is only the latest incident.
The Wilshire 5000 (which I find far more useful than the DJIA) is currently trading 500 points above the level it was when Trump took office. The 3% and 4% economic growth he promised never materialized. His GDP growth numbers are almost exactly where they were under Obama, but under Trump it was at the cost of a $1T deficit in times of a reasonably healthy economy. Meanwhile, climate change has seen zero attention and the fossil fuel sector has been buttressed and supported. Our position as a world leader has been eroded on many fronts, leaving a vacuum for China and Russia to step into. Our ability to harness partners in times of war and physical peril are eroded because we cannot keep our promises to those we engage with. Our media institutions have been repeatedly attacked, lies have become the new accepted norm. Childish insults, bullying, and trolling have become the new norm (rather than the exception) in our politics.
I said 3.5 years ago that we would all need to be willing to suffer a bit in order to rid ourselves of this man. Personally, I'm willing to see most of my retirement nest egg vaporized if it means he is not re-elected in November.
I suspect many on the right are not truly grasping just how strongly those of us who oppose this man want to see him gone, and are willing to sacrifice if that is what it takes. Every election since 2016 has told the same story: the left and moderates are angry and motivated. Elections that should have been a slam dunk have been a tight squeeze, even if they did ultimately swing right. I think November is going to be the beginning of the end of this Trump-led travesty. Hopefully, if that happens, what remains of the Republican party will examine itself, reconsider its choices, and re-find its soul.Last edited by lilpixieofterror; 03-16-2020, 03:54 PM."The man from the yacht thought he was the first to find England; I thought I was the first to find Europe. As you wish, Pix. The list of things I have concerns about are based on pretty well established facts, but if you consider it "fear mongering," so be it.
However, at no point did I say I want poor people to suffer. That part of your statement concerning my posts is false. The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars.
