In the TWeb right-winger sense, where if you feel it in your gut, then it's the truth, and those progressives with their so-called 'facts' and 'reality', don't matter.

That is very superficial and not related to the topic.

Then why are you talking about it?

I believe you are exaggerating this. Yes, other states and regions of the USA have later infections than New York and California and will have pronged curves. The gradual recovery curve based on the evidence reflects this. Georgia and Florida reflect this, and they have not reached their peak. This true in the graphs for other countries like France.

I do believe that the reported cases in the future will be better reported than you indicate. Actually the problem of accurate data is more in the places like NYC that are so overwhelmed by fatalities that it will be a will before accurate numbers are available.

Nonetheless NYC data is showing a natural bell curve recovery.

Technically, Canada is slightly larger. But the difference is so small (Canada is 1.528% larger) that they are essentially the same size geographically.

I have no idea how "arable landmass" fits into the discussion, but the U.S. is bigger at 174.45 million hectares (2005) to Canada's 45.66M hectares (2003). There's an odd reference to Canada having the most arable landmass of any NATO country in 2003, but that is an odd reference given the numbers above and the participation of the U.S. in NATO.

                        • In the U.S., it appears to be one step forward, one step back. For the last two days new cases have increased (up to 28,429 yesterday), and deaths are back above 2,300 per day (2,390 yesterday). World numbers are also up, especially deaths - but that is partly due to the UK changing how it is tallying deaths.

Yet the drumbeat for "reopen" continues and grows, and the "leaders" are listening.

It's going to be a rough year.

On the plus side, several former clients have reached out because they are beefing up online learning and need help. So a little infusion of income in the early days of retirement. What they hey. I was a bit sick of fishing and cleaning the house.

Our test, in major hot spots, is right on par with everyone else and ahead of many others.
So what? The fact remains that the U.S., the Trump administration, ignored the warnings of a pandemic, rejected the offered test kits from the W.H.O., sent out faulty test kits of their own making, and started testing late which allowed the virus to further spread in the first place. And that is just testing which there is still to this day a shortage of as well as a shortage of protective gear. They also delayed in setting up guidelines such as wearing masks, social distancing, banning crowds etc etc. Even now, Trump, by executive order, is sending meat processing employees back to work without the enforcement of OSHA and CDC rules even though thousands of cases have been traced back to those plants.

It is not necessary to excuse the plant owners from their responsibility to provide a safe working environment to get the plants back to work. But it is consistent with Trumps lack of empathy and general concern for people. The Same act he is using to direct them back to work could be used to make sure the work environments are themselves safe. But he chose to be the slave owner whipping the slaves back to work rather than the competent but compassionate leader that sees and responds to the legitimate needs of the entire country.
My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not  bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19
