    OMG

Anyone who can post this list as indicated is truly blind to their own bias.

    This explains a LOT.

ETA: As I once said to a dear friend, "when you are so far to the right that you are about to fall off the scale, everyone else looks "left." No wonder you think of me as a "liberal." Holy smoke. I had no clue how badly skewed your perception is.

The irony, of course, is that someone could make the exact same comment about your own "left to right" ranking of various news sources. (Talk about being blind to your own bias.)

hmm - just exactly how does a person determine his own bias MM?

Are you asking because you don't know, or is this a failed attempt at a clever rhetorical question?

Except, MM, my list is not based on my own opinion - specifically because I am concerned about my own bias. It is based on the combination of my reading experience and the assessments of multiple independent sources, including at least one socially driven source.

But, of course, you'll dismiss those sources as "biased" because they have not produced the outcome that aligns with your opinions.

As I said in the other post, further discussion with someone who is as blindly biased as you are is pretty much pointless.

WSJ left? Fox NEUTRAL? Are you kidding me?

No - I'm asking you what you think is an appropriate process for evaluating one's own bias.

So Breitbart (far right) and Mother Jones (far left) I don't waste time on. Fox (right) and CNN (left) I am wary of but read/use. WSJ and BBC are go-to sources. I'm sure you get the idea.
They all do it, because everyone has biases. Period. To what "degree" is just a matter of opinion. If you're left, you trust left sources. If you're right, you trust right sources. Hopefully you're somewhere in between and look at multiple sources.

Of course it is. How we rank various media sources on a "left to right" scale reveals nothing more than how we stand in relation to them. Just because you've been able to find other sources that happen to agree with you doesn't prove anything one way or the other because I could easily do the same. So what? Neither of us is being objective here, but only one of us has enough honesty and self-awareness to admit it.

                          • Umm...that's actually not what I said about Hitler and Trump. I was actually responding to your juxtaposition of the two and outlining how I would assess the comparison.

However, it is true that I plan to leave the country and renounce my citizenship (as soon as I can secure another one) if our country sees fit to re-elect Mr. Trump to office. I'm hoping that won't prove to be necessary. This is funny because...?
