And I've seen those on the left hoping for US casualties in the missile attack because they think it will hurt Trump politically. There are sickos on both sides.

My take is that Iran had to save face but not start a war, so they sent over a bunch of missiles that missed on purpose but allowed them to tell their citizens that they responded to the US aggression. If Trump is smart, he will brag about how weak the Iranian response was, that nobody was hurt and say he has no plans to retaliate unless they kill any more Americans.

I guess we will find out in a little bit, when Trump makes his morning address.

Apparently Iran's version of CNN is telling Iranian citizens that over 80 US military personnel were killed.

I was fearful of war breaking out when I first read the headlines of Iran sending missiles, but the more I read, the more I'm optimistic that this is a deescalation by Iran.

Iran appears to have intentionally made a token strike only. They seem to have intended to hit nothing major and kill no one, and it appears they have been successful at this.

Agreed. At first, I thought they just missed their targets. But after reading some analysis this doesn't seem to be the case. Iran was almost certainly responsible for the missile attack on the Saudi oil refineries last year, and those were very precision strikes. So it appears Iran can hit what they want to hit (within striking distance). So this may be a symbolic response.

I disagree with that, that's what you call instigation, unless of course you want war.

Pretty sure Trump will do some bragging about how weak Iran is. He has to save face too you know. And the Iranian people will never hear of it. They will probably be fed some line about how the US backed down in the face of Iranian military's show of force.

I have heard rumblings, but nothing that sounds legit. However, Iran is resisting Boeing's team coming to do inspection, so, who knows?

And then there's MSNBC which reported the Iranian propaganda without verifying it first, and this a full hour after the Pentagon had released a statement saying there were no casualties.

It depends on what corner of the internet you happen to be looking at, I suppose, but my general impression, at least from what I saw, is that liberals were almost gleeful, spreading false rumors about massive US casualties and all but laughing at conservatives who support Trump.
