US military, without invitation, is in Syria, in control of their oil fields. Since when do they need anyone's permission to occupy a foreign country?

Apparently Trump is supposed to meet with senators in a closed-door top secret discussion (who even knows what that's about -- Hey Trump, take down Iran like we want and your impeachment goes away lol?), so I guess we'll know what the outcome will be after that.

I would think that there is a significant difference between being a civilian simply living out their life and being a military leader flying in to oversee operations -- including organizing lethal attacks on us -- wouldn't you agree?

The reason for the targeted assassination was supposedly a Soleimani planned imminent attack against the U.S. Be skeptical, there is no evidence forthcoming on that in the same vein as there was no evidence for the claims made by the Bush Administration for going to war with Iraq.

If Germany or other allies decided that it was no longer in their best interests to have U.S. forces stationed on their soil, it doesn't necessarily make them an adversary. Iraq is Irans' neighbor and it's people are divided so the government is doing what it believes to be in their best interests at the moment, not because they are adversarial to the U.S.

SOFA"s are military framework agreements Lilpix, and the contents of those agreements vary depending on the country. The SOFA agreement with Iraq had the U.S. withrawing its forces in 2011. The point though is that a sovereign country doesn't automatically become an adversary just beause they decide they no longer want U.S. troops stationed in their country.
