Not if you have a greater purpose for being there. Attending DESPITE the ignoramuses is a rather courageous thing to do.
Where was the presence of the Flaggers? Apart from the marchers and neo-Nazis or there in the thick of 'em?

If your "greater purpose" of preserving monuments (erected in the early 1900s to promote white supremacy) is compatible with marching alongside neo-Nazis and "Jews will not replace us" chanters then you are rightly and fairly counted among the neo-Nazis and white nationalists.

It should be cause for reevaluating your presence in a group with its own apparent white extremist problems:

The organization has enjoyed steady coverage by local media outlets over the last five years, but few reporters have looked closely at Flagger membership or the individuals and organizations with which it has found common cause. Some of these individuals are directly connected with White Nationalist groups such as the League of the South, which openly promote white supremacy. Such a close association blurs the lines between legitimate concerns for the preservation of history and heritage and the racial politics of the present.

            There's a saying from a good movie:

The Rabbi: My father used to say: "The first time someone calls you a horse you punch him on the nose, the second time someone calls you a horse you call him a jerk but the third time someone calls you a horse, well then perhaps it's time to go shopping for a saddle.

And, with relatively little research, stuff like this just keeps appearing:

            Source:

Update: Virginia Flaggers were led down the streets of Lexington by a member of the League of the South.

You have to go to archive.org to get the page but the man is Gregory Randall, who publicly said he was a member of League of the South in 2015.

I was not adressing the question but Trump's answer. I don't assume you want to call Trump's answer another lie from the left?

                Trump's entire statement:

                That sounds perfectly reasonable.

But then Chuck says that Trump usually talks off the cuff... so he's condemned for talking off the cuff, and condemned for taking his time to get the facts first.

The press conference occurred on August 15, three days after the Unite the Right rally and the murder of Heather Heyer. Trump had been silent on the issue through the interim, which is why he was asked why he took so long to respond.

Anything to preserve the lie that Trump called Neo-Nazis "very fine people" by erasing the line dividing them from the peaceful protestors.

I'm pretty much with Sam here. There is no way to hang out hear nazis and wa at a rally of their making and with a cause of a similar nature and not be identified with them. You have to be found in the crowd against them or you're going to be perceived as being with them.
My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not  bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19

If you are somewhere with a purpose that you are committed to, persevering there DESPITE people who are there for a different reason (and yes their reasons were different despite you and Sam's mistaken "similar nature" claims) is quite courageous.
