Do you have kids, MM. I doubt it. But how would you like it if they had to worry about the possibility of being gunned down every day while they're in school, at the mall, or at the movies. It's not just about the murders, although that's bad enough.

I am sure that you are aware that when you seek to reduce a risk, you might introduce new risks which might cause you to reconsider. I am also sure you can think of instances in which cars help save lives and provide means of life, among other very useful things. Thus banning cars could actually cause more deaths. Like when some people claim that some of the mass shootings could have been prevented or stopped at an earlier point if more good people had guns.

comparing how banning cars could cost more lives to how banning guns could cost more lives. If that isn't what you meant then you need to be clearer in your statements.

If nobody could legally own a gun, then only criminals would have guns and we would have no defense against them.
