My best friend Mike was a contractor for 35 years, he always had a 7-10 man crew and paid well. He could not keep up, now he only does small remodeling jobs that he can do alone. And BTW - over the years these situations were reported to ICE - nothing was ever done.
Yeah right seer, just one or two contractors hire undocumented workers, all the other contractors just follow suit because they can't keep up. Bunk! They all hire them for the same reason, because they will work for less and the more profit then goes to the contractor, period. But you are right, we can do two things, enforce the employment laws, which would do more than a stupid and expensive 2000 mile long wall, not paid for by Mexico, would do to deter illegal entry, and we could reform the rest of the entire immigration process. For one thing, we have to stop thinking of people as "the other." The only reason you are here and not suffering in Hondurus, or living here as an undocumented worker in the U.S., is because you were lucky enough to be born here. You're better off, you're not better. You people want a wall, because you have no compassion, and for many of you, sorry to say, it's because you're racists.
And as far as ICE is concerned, they don't enforce that law because the government doesn't want them to enforce that law. They're not an agency unto themselves. Now, who do you suppose doesn't want the government to enforce that law against employing the undocumented, who benefits from the non-enforcement.?

You really have no concept of how the real world operates, Jimmy.

You kinda sorta forgot the part about our grandparents or great grandparents came here LEGALLY, Jimmy.

And were subject to strict guidelines for entry that meant if you even had something like a pronounced limp you'd likely be rejected and forced to return home.

Racist Jim? My grandfather was from Brazil. And my grandparents (on both sides) came here legally - followed all the laws.

Democrats who want their lawns mowed cheaply? And they want future votes as the illegals have kids here who are citizens, and will vote 80% democrat. That is why one of the more conservative states, California (which elected Reagan twice as governor) is now turning into a third world leftist sewer.

And here we find the hidden reality, for conservatives, it's all political.

To get that conclusion from Seer's post required a rather serious degree of stupidity on your part, Jim.

No, his post just revealed what is already known of conservatives political fear of minorities.

Well of course Jim, just look at the big cities of California, and most of the other cities under liberal control - they are lawless hell holes. That is what leftism produces.

Jim, if my father was Spanish (which he was) what does that make me? And it is not minorities we fear, but leftist, irrational policies.

Well good luck with this replacement wall, that Mexico isn't paying for. It won't do anything relevant to stop immigrants, but apparently it's going to make conservatives feel good, and US conservatives these days seem to be all about their feelings rather than facts.

One upside of this unconstitutional legal ruling is that the next Democratic President will be able to divert $1 trillion to fight the national security threat of climate change, regardless of what a Republican-controlled congress wants.
Um seems like using Pentagon (military) funds for the wall is what those funds are supposed to be used for, defending our borders and our country.

Trump is setting it up so they can apply for asylum IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY. That saves them the dangerous trip in the caravan and gives them a legal way to get help if they qualify. Then if they do get asylum, they probably get transportation to the USA and green cards. Then they can legally live in the country and get legal jobs. The fence will keep out those who do not follow the law and we don't want in our country. Which keeps the kids out of cages.
