And as I pointed out earlier, it does the exact opposite. But there was nothing about how they cooperated with the Russian interference that was explicit, and thus no crime was committed, and likely no explicit conspiracy to cooperate with them on that element of the election.



In this case there has to be clear evidence of intent to define the actions as a crime. So it is more complicated in this case than just having evidence of an action that is criminal.

Obstruction is a crime of intent. There is a lot of evidence Trump acted in ways that ARE obstruction IF one has enough evidence to show clear intent. Mueller did not have that kind of clear cut evidence to show beyond reasonable doubt the intent of the act, and without that he can't classify his actions as crimes. So in this case, to even think about some sort of indictment or recommendation to indict, there has to be very, very strong evidence addressing the issue of intent.

He didn't "balk", he conspired with Loretta Lynch, the Clintons, and the Obama administration, up to and including the president himself, to let Hillary off the hook.

The evidence against Hillary was way more substantial of not only the actual crime but the actual obstruction of it (not merely the intent). Yet she wasn't charged with anything. IF if it so easy to convict someone of obstruction that the mere intent is the crime itself, then either
1. They are a bunch of hypocrites that should have arrested Hillary on actual obstruction not intent.
2. The idea that obstruction is a crime of intent must be a false theory.

It's very hard to prove intent. You have to be able to read minds.

And to absolutely nobody's surprise during the extensive coverage about Mueller's letter on CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 they somehow omitted that Mueller made it clear that Barr's summary was not inaccurate or misleading.

Likewise on MSNBC's Hardball with host Chris Matthews claiming that Barr "lied" with one guest, senior correspondent for The American Prospect and columnist for the New York Times and Slate, Michelle Goldberg, declaring that the summary "completely mischaracterized the Mueller report."

I'm sure it was nothing more than an accidental oversight by both shows.

Robert Mueller told Barr he objected to the AG's summary of the investigation, not that he "spun the report". He expressed his "concerns" in a letter to Barr that he hadn't depicted the "context, nature, and substance" of the probe accurately, according to reports. In short, that Barr had not conveyed the correct nuance of it. Not an insignificant matter if the Special Counsel felt obliged to contact the AG about it.
