However, the lack of evidence proving a crime will be a problem for the Democrats as well since an attempt at impeachment could very easily backfire if it becomes clear just how weak of a case they actually have. Indeed, the Democrat party is divided on the issue. This is why some commentators suspect that the Democrats will not hold impeachment hearings and will instead try to make their case directly to voters

Except for the fact that the case is solid as hell. Even if the republicans refuse to do their oversight responsibilities and hold this president accountable, the american people will get to see just what a corrupt scoundrel this president is and both he and the republican party will pay in the upcoming elections, just as they did in the midterms.

The crimes are easy to see but Mueller claims that they are not proved beyond a reasonable doubt. I am not sure why he has applied such a high standard.

I respectfully disagree. This is the most corrupt administration in history. If the Congress doesn't do it's constitutional role of overseeing, checking the abuse of the executive branch, then there is no reason to have such role. Future Presidents will think they can be as corrupt as this one if Congress does nothing about it.
