If an idea is (or might be) false, I don't have the option of accepting it because it makes arguing my position easier.
No one here is doing that. Suggesting otherwise is deceitful.
Which is really the point of this thread. Human lives do not always begin at conception, so although assuming they do makes for easier arguments, those arguments lack foundation.
Despite your attempts to nitpick otherwise, yes they do. Even twins - they're just not separate lives until one or two cell divisions have occurred.

I have a point because exceptions do undermine 'facts', and ignoring them is unscientific.

I note I'm still being called 'ignorant' by some-one who thinks skin cells don't respond to stimuli, and can't tell the difference between Egypt and Antarctica.

And if a zygote isn't a lifeform then what is it?
      I've no idea. I've never claimed a zygote wasn't a life form.

No it's not. If you say, "It is a scientific fact that swans are white," that there are black swans doesn't undermine the fact. It would only be wrong if you said, "It is a scientific fact that ALL swans are white."

When I said it's a scientific fact that human life begins at conception, you said, "No, it's an unscientific opinion promoted by non-scientists with a political agenda. Scientists know reality is more complicated."

Now you say that a zygote is a lifeform which nullifies your earlier objection.

It is not, as you should have been able to find out for yourself.

If you were assuming that doll was an accurate replication, you just did it yourself.

I disagree, as do some of your fellows. A fertilised egg is not two lives, but one.

            Looks pretty accurate to me.

Of course! It's the few pieces of ammunition he has at his disposal, that and nitpicking or moving the goalpost.

It is A life, which is the entire point of the argument. Don't you have anything better to do than irrelevant nitpicking?

                      • Actually it's not representative of a 12 week gestation at all. The head is entirely too big and the baby is too long.

You have cited NO biological definitions and references for the existence of souls or, if they exist, at what point they are instilled into the human organism.

It is your argument that souls exist. In #134, you state authoritatively that souls are instilled at conception. How do you know that?
