And btw, the overwhelming majority of the "lies" on the list are what rational people would call mistakes or errors. Such lists of lies told by various presidents used to circulate along the fringes and passed back and forth by nutcases but now they're circulated by supposed reputable news services.

The view that Pence wrote it is based primarily on the use of the fairly rare word "lodestar" in the piece, a Pence favorite. And secondarily on a few other factors, e.g. the deep concern that Trump is "amoral", the obvious style of the piece as politician-written, Pence's obvious personal gain if Trump was removed from office etc. It has nothing whatsoever to do with TDS.

I have personally been swayed by the arguments put forth by Lawrence O'Donnell and others that the author of the piece is the Director of National Intelligence, Republican ex-congressman ex-senator, Dan Coats. His trigger for writing the piece was the recent death and funeral of his close friend, John McCain, whom he praises at the end of the op-ed. He is one of the few career politicians among Trump's senior advisers, has the foreign-policy focus that that the op-ed piece evidences, has strayed toward mocking Trump in public in the past, is old enough (75) to be sure he'll not want to run for office again and so won't be adversely affected by people finding out he wrote this piece, and his denial of writing the piece was neither accompanied by any critique of the NYT nor praise of Trump unlike other senior figures.

Pence and Coats have already denied writing it, so if either of them did write it, that would make one of them a liar and a coward, which would certainly call the author's status of "credible insider" into question. Is this the narrative you liberal morons are going with?

Could you elaborate? I have serious misgivings about his stand on science, but over Trump he wins hands down. He is, as far as I can tell, at least mentally stable. He would, however, definitely not have been my first choice among the small army of republican primary candidates in 2016.

Why would they admit it? Any insider should say 'no' if asked until the whole thing blows over and they can come out/be revealed afterwards, much like Deepthroat. Nolte makes a good point. All of these supposedly highly placed insiders are dishing the dirt on Trump, but where is the evidence that he has actually done anything morally, ethically, or legally wrong as president? You would think these "insiders" would know where the bodies are buried, but Woodward's book, and now this "anonymous" screed bring zero substance to the table.

Rather, everything is assessed primarily on the basis of how many links to Breitbart stories that it can achieve, and secondarily as to how it can be misportrayed as liberals being dumb in order to fight angrily against the huge chip on his shoulder that is his own feelings of stupidity and of the stupidity of conservatives in general.

They're still OK with caging kids, destroying education, destroying healthcare, doing everything possible to punish outgroups while they're in power, but not OK with the very stooge they put into the office?
