Neoliberals have no interest in pursuing a more equal wealth distribution and favor corporate rights over worker rights. This was the basis of the Clinton/Sanders inner-party divide in the last election. Modern socialists hold very little power even within their own political party because the ones with all the money tend to be neoliberals.

So you are saying that the socialist democrats and the money grubbing greedy democrats are dividing the party? And that the majority of the democrats are the greedy ones who don't really give a crap about the poor and just want to keep the rich corporations in charge?

Neoliberals are not necessarily the majority but are definitely the more powerful group, otherwise yes.

I thought the Democratic party platform was to take care of the poor people with social programs and higher paying jobs and tax the rich so that government can do that?

Just sayin.. If the Democratic Platform actually works, then why isn't it working in California, a thoroughly Democrat state? They have no excuse. They can't even blame the Federal Government since they claim they can be an independent country if they wanted to and keep making motions to secede and claim they have the 5th largest economy in the world, beating out the UK

They have a slight problem. It takes lots of money to become a candidate and get elected. Which means the only people who can run for office will be the rich neoliberals or phonies such as Sanders to talks about socialism while living in a mansion.

The bigger problem though is that since the neoliberals are the ones running the democratic party, they are the ones who wrote the platform that they are not even trying to implement.

The middle class liberals, the blue collar workers are the ones being hurt the most. They are leaving California in droves because they can't afford to live or work there. And they are the ones in the rest of the country that are getting fed up with the democratic party.

PS - It's not just the democratic party leaders that are misleading their constituents either. The Republican party is not innocent. Recall the whole stalling and refusal to reform the healthcare act? After years of complaining about Obama care and saying they can do better, when it came down to it, the republicans in congress did absolutely NOTHING.

Republicans as a group did nothing because a couple malcontents refused to go along with each proposal (including McCain's parting "gift").
