Besides that, it's a canard, the U.S. also spends Billions of dollars on Russian oil, 7 billion last year, so why should the the other NATO members protect us?"The man from the yacht thought he was the first to find England; I thought I was the first to find Europe. Wrong again Lilpix. The 70% that the liar and chief is refering to is the entire U.S. Military Budget, which being a global power is obviously huge, but is not how the NATO budget is derived. The NATO budget is derived in accordance with each particular members GDP and the U.S having by far the largest GDP is the highest contributer to THE NATO MILITARY BUDGET, and the U.S. contribution is 22%, 2nd is Germany at 15% with France and the United Kingdom coming in third at 10% each. That's 57%. The other 43% is divided up amongst the other 20 something less wealthy countries. So, you need to stop getting your talking points from the liar and chief because he seems to be making his figures up from thin air or giving zero context to what they say.
And BTW, if Trump is going to criticize Germany for enriching Russia because they import oil from Russia, then he should first lead by example and stop importing 7 billion dollars worth of oil a year from Russia.Last edited by JimL; 07-20-2018, 04:29 PM.

A single USAF active duty air refueling or material wing had more aircraft of its mission type than exist in the entire air forces of the three biggest next NATO nations. NATO exist and is feared mainly because of US military power.
7 billion is a drop in the bucket of the US trillion dollar energy market. Did you ever think much of the issue is Russia using the carrot and stick method by hanging oil over Germany to make them less likely to do something they dont like?
