Yeah, I'm sure they'll act completely different when they get to the U.S. border.

          • JimL was asking when the caravan was going to be in the news again...

Hundreds of migrants try rushing toward California port of entry, as Trump threatens to close entire border

Images and videos posted on social media Sunday afternoon showed hundreds of migrants from the leading Central American caravan pushing past Mexican riot police and rushing the border at the port of entry in San Ysidro, Calif., in a major test for both U.S. border authorities and Mexican officials.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said it suspended northbound and southbound crossings for both pedestrians and vehicles at the San Ysidro port of entry at approximately 11:30 a.m. local time. It later tweeted that the pedestrian crossings had re-opened, a little more than four hours after the initial closure. The vehicle lanes re-opened at approximately 5 p.m. local time, five-and-a-half hours after they were closed.

CBP added that some demonstrators "attempted to illegally enter the U.S. through both the northbound and southbound vehicle lanes at the port of entry itself. Those persons were stopped and turned back to Mexico."

U.S. border agents shot several rounds of tear gas after some migrants attempted to penetrate various points along the border and threw what appeared to be rocks at U.S. authorities.

They even brought their children along.

So much for these people just being peaceful immigrants who want to apply for asylum.

The did the same thing at the Mexican border too. I guess they figured the US border patrol wouldn't do anything as long as they could use women and children as some sort of shields?

The Mexican authorities have arrested a bunch of them and will deport them at the southern border.

If asylum was what they were seeking it was offered by Mexico when they first entered the country. They didn't even slow down long enough to say "No gracias." Asylum is not what they are interested in.

And remember the whole thing about how evil Trump was for locking up the kids and taking them away from the parents?

How freaking dangerous is it for this mom in this photo to be rushing barbed wire and armed soldiers dragging her two kids with her - barefoot and in diapers? They probably should be taken away. She wasn't seeking asylum.

                • Now this is interesting: an MSNBC anchor is pushing the narrative that the caravan is made up of largely women and children refugees who were rushing the border because they thought it was their only chance to get in. When they asked their on-location reporter to give his first-hand report, he openly admitted that most of who he was seeing were men who said they were looking for a "better life"!

Seems like he didn't get his "talking points" memo and accidentally told the truth.

Well that's one, out of many hundreds in the caravan. Far from comprising violent gang members the vast majority are fleeing gang violence in their home countries. Yes Trump said that, but why would one necessarily believe Trump? He did not provide a source and we know that he tells lies.

Keep in mind that they were offered asylum upon entering Mexico which was turned down flat. AFAICT not a single person in any of these caravans took the offer but instead kept trudging thousands of miles until they reached the U.S. border. So much for that being their primary motivation.

How about the person who admitted being an MS-13 gang member? Doesn't he count as a source?

                              • Link please since the last I saw was from Time magazine which stated Migrant Caravan Continues for U.S. Border After Rejecting Mexico's Offer to Stay. Also I'd be curious to see when they started accepting the offer, namely was it only when the realized they couldn't steamroll over the U.S. border like they did the Mexican one.
Well now that you've acknowledged that Trump was right about MS-13 infiltrating the caravan let's take a look at the second part of the claim:

Source: BANGLADESHIS JOINED MIGRANT CARAVAN IN GUATEMALA, UNIVISION CORRESPONDENT REPORTS

To be accurate Bangladesh isn't part of the Middle East but rather is part of the Indian subcontinent, but if Trump was referring to Muslims from overseas (which thanks to the failed travel ban law suits, you can't really say), then he's correct on this as well. In any case perhaps he was referring to this
