I don't think we have to worry. Trump has apparently come away from North Korea with some warm fuzzy words, and little substance (that we can see, anyway). We've been down this road before, with one major difference: Kim Jong Un just got the "leader" of the most powerful country on earth to meet with him personally on the basis of his nuclear program, with little cost to him except some vague promises to keep talking. So, in a manner of speaking, Trump has given Un a face-saving olive branch. We'll have to see what comes of it long term.

I actually don't think they did - but I DO think Trump wishes this was right...and we should all be resisting that ideal...
So you have given up pretending to be honest, I see.

Merkel: But- but you can't do that!
        Trump: Watch me.
        Abe: Watch us.

You think Abe is siding with Merkel in that picture? Good gravy you're naive.

Abe adopting the same posture and demeanor as Trump is culturally significant.

Hmm... nope, I still don't think it says what you think it says. Abe never expressed any unwillingness to work with Trump.

NONE of the G7 said they were unwilling to work with Trump, MM, AFAIK. But Abe clearly called out the protectionist policies that are a hallmark of Trump's administration - and not the administrations of the other G7 members.

Beautiful presentation of the Fox News hypocrisy on Obama vs Trump meeting with NK:

"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell
"[Capitalism] as it exists today is, in my opinion, the real source of evils. I am convinced there is only one way to eliminate these grave evils, namely through the establishment of a socialist economy" - Albert Einstein

                              Yeah...pretty much...

But I suspect a similar montage could be put together for CNN or other left outlets - praising Obama for his leadership, and questioning Trump's decision.

                                1. You know that means that the MSM did just the opposite then right? Back then they were praising Obama and now they are condemning Trump?

                                2. Trump never once "bowed and scraped" to Kim. In fact he has made Kim bow and scrape to get the meeting back on the books and Trump seems to have walked away with everything he wanted: Complete de-nuclearization of NK. Obama accomplished nothing.
