My cat, for a month or so, was lying down on the floor facing a drawer. I just thought the cat was being weird. But then I noticed signs of a mouse around. Finally I realized to pull the drawer out. Turned out there were baby mice. Maybe 8 of them in a tupperware bin. It took another while to capture the mother and put her outside.

You'll find that a number of environmental activists are dead set against wind turbines because of how they can decimate a flock of migratory birds -- especially ones on the endangered list. Just Google "environmentalist oppose wind turbines" for a multitude of examples.

What's wrong with these birds? It is not like these turbines are whizzing around propeller speeds.

Quick story - I don't like cats, but when my daughters were little, they wanted kittens. I told them the only reason you need cats is if you have rats. Well, we discovered rats in the barn eating into the bags of corn, so I reluctantly agreed to let them have cats, if they were OUTSIDE cats. They agreed.

One night, I was in the kitchen stirring a pot of stew, and I kept hearing something at the back door. I looked out, and there sat BOTH cats with a half-dead mouse AND a dead snake, one of the cats was pawing at the mouse like, "see, I did this!"

We've had cats ever since.

Blade length: 116 feet (they can be much longer - Siemens has a 75m blade)
Circle traced by tip of blade: pi * (116 * 2) = approx. 729 feet
Rotation in video: about 7 seconds
Speed of tip: 729 / 7 = 104 feet/second or 374,836 feet/hr = 71 miles/hour (Siemens blades would trace a circle at a whopping 160 MPH)

Remember all of those birds killed by cars/trucks? That's about the speed of the average highway car/truck. (Siemen's blades will blow that off the map)

And it's kinda fun to watch. It's almost like rope-a-dope. I'm not quite convinced that Trump is smart enough that he's doing this on purpose, but he keeps the focus on himself, and stuff is "getting done".

The Senate hasn't been getting enough done, so the Majority Leader more or less canceled August recess. It just so happens that there are many more sitting Democrats defending seats this election cycle, so that hurts them some. Perhaps that'll light a fire or two under them.
