Maybe it's just time to let this one go and move on?

Originally posted by carpedm9587 View PostYou know, Star, there are a lot of people in the states who voted for Trump but don't actually "support" him. They didn't donate to him. They don't think he's a particularly good president. They'd rather he wasn't president. But they felt that their vote at that time was best used to keep Hillary from succeeding. I am the first to say that people don't vote AGAINST people - they vote FOR people, so clearly the person they voted for was, at least in some respects, more desireable than the opposition. But it is a bit of a leap from that vote to active support.

I really wanted one of the other Republican candidates to win (Kasich) but Trump won the nomination. So I voted for Trump.
I don't like him as a person, but as POTUS I have been generally impressed by his willingness to keep him campaign promises, even though I don't agree with all of them (I think the wall is a boondoggle) and even though he couldn't get anything done with the healthcare thing (because of congress). I am less impressed with the way he runs his staff, constantly hiring and firing people left and right, and I definitely don't like his tweeting and acting juvenile.
So like Cow Poke, I am not a Trump "supporter" like say, Mountain Man and Demi are. But I am relatively pleased with him as President so far. Unless the democrats can pick a really good candidate in 2020 that I can agree with, I will vote for Trump again. Or better yet, hoping he doesn't run again and maybe Pence or some other Republican will run instead. I actually do like Pence and think he would make a better president than Trump.

I pretty much favored anyone else running on the GOP side other than Trump
