Trying to distill something as complex as personal and political beliefs down to a single point on a graph is a silly exercise on the face of it.
Yeah, none of the quizzes are super great, but they're all quizzes that have been brought up in years past by Twebbers, so I figured I'd relink them. There was a really long detailed quiz I ran into years ago, that had an option to add even more questions for precision, but I don't know where it's at. That one was pretty great. Also, Pew's quiz seems to change pretty regularly. The one I linked isn't the same one I took years ago that I felt was more accurate. As for questions like "sex outside of marriage is usually immoral", I go with the nearest option that matches my worldview. I agree it's awkwardly asked, but I suppose one could argue that there are some circumstances where sex could happen outside of marriage and it not be immoral...A victim of rape hasn't done anything immoral, or a couple stranded on a desert island probably aren't doing anything immoral if they don't have a priest/pastor to marry them. So, yeah...

For the Political Compass survey, I'm here:

According to Pew, I'm a "Market Skeptic Republicans" (along with 12% of the public)

According to the Advocates quiz I'm,

My views are all over the political map, and don't align with any party. I'm pro-life. I believe that government probably should get out of the marriage debate altogether, and that it should be a religious affair. I'm against the death penalty. I'm for legalization of light drugs, but the continued non-legalization of heavier drugs like meth, heroin, and crack. I'm pro gun control. I think that the US should move out of international affairs, and concentrate on cleaning our own mess. On that end, I also believe our government needs to stop spending so much money on the military, and use that towards helping the poor. I'm for universal healthcare. I'm for the expansion of benefits to the poor, but a restructuring of the current system. I'm for legal immigration, against illegal immigration. I'm pro-integration, and want to see more efforts in fixing racial tensions, but think that Affirmative Action has done its job and needs to be wrapped up. I'm for environmental regulations on industry. etc. etc.

    • I suppose the real lesson here is that it's counterproductive to try and pigeonhole anybody with a single, all encompassing label.
Some may call me foolish, and some may call me odd
But I'd rather be a fool in the eyes of man
Than a fool in the eyes of God

Me too, but that kinda surprised me. I think some of the questions are... worded funny. I tried to answer with my first impulse, not trying to overthink, but...
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

On that one I got "Core Conservatives along with 13% of the public."

So maybe the political compass one is skewed a bit too liberal in it's results.

According to the Advocates quiz I'm,

          I Got Centrist again here.

According to Political Compass, I'm considerably to the left of where they think Obama was in 2012.
LOL. They had Obama as a staunch conservative?

I do not think Obama was a staunch conservative, by ANY stretch of the imagination, but he DID do something to a greater degree than most of his predecessors, and something Trump has not done at all, as far as I know. He selected three of his cabinet members from the Republican party to have opposition voices in his cabinet, and his staff included many Republicans. He did so at a level none of his predecessors did. I think a couple of other presidents had two, and several had only one.

As far as I know (but I certainly do not know all), Trump has surrounded himself with a conservative bubble. Unlike his predecessors, he has NO opposition presence in his cabinet, and I don't know of any on his staff. He has also populated his cabinet with a greater percentage of white men than any of his recent predecessors. Perhaps Kelly has caused that to change (related to staffing), but I am not aware of it.

The ultimate weakness of violence is that it is a descending spiral begetting the very thing it seeks to destroy...returning violence for violence multiplies violence, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. I'll concede that Jesus gave away free health-care, and Obama did not. Obama strong-armed Peter into paying for Paul's healthcare, which is not exactly Christian ethics. Claiming Jesus was a socialist is an epic misreading of scripture - and claiming that Jesus was anti-war sort of flies in the face of the Apocalypse.

Well, consider me disappointed in your view, then. I love it as a screwball nomination, but that's about it.
