Not quite. The meaning of "atheist" has varied over the centuries. "Without God" (18th century) to "without a god" mid 20th century to now, and also contemporary "without belief in a god." I get a kick when I visit somebody's home, and ask where they go to Church. They'll name a Church, and I'll smile and say, "oh, who's the pastor?" There's that deer-in-the-headlights stare... uh....uh.....
What makes it even more comical is when they name MY Church, and upon asking "who's the pastor", they name a guy who was there 25 years ago.
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.Comment
