Except Europe tightly regulates them and they have also had recent mass murders involving guns. And the weapons in this case are regulated just as tightly in the US as they are in Europe, if not moreso.

The truth is that you regard americans as morally culapble because you hate non-liberal white people, just like every other white liberal. The loose gun control is just an excuse and a nonsensical one at that in this case. If it wasn't for that you would find something else.

I'm curious what laws they think could have prevented this. When someone decides to commit mass murder, they've already kicked the law to the curb.

Much stricter than in the U.S. And while the U.S. has something like 10 times more firearms in civilian hands than does Russia the homicide rate here is roughly half of what Russia experiences.

Automatic weapons are heavily regulated and require special permits to own.

According to this morning's Washington Post Express article, the guns in question were (illegally) modified to fully automatic (as I suspected).

ISIS is doubling down on their claim that he recently converted to Islam referring to him as Abu Abdul Bar al-Amriki but still offering no evidence to support it. Last night a terrorism expert on TV declared that ISIS, while often exaggerating things, rarely simply made these sort of claims up. Still, they have done so like the attack at a casino in Manila, Philippines a few months ago where 37 were killed.

Aaron Rouse, the FBI agent in charge of the bureau's Las Vegas field office says, "We have determined, to this point, no connection to an international terrorist group." Paddock's brother also says the shooter had no political or religious affiliation, but said they weren't close and only occasionally spoke.

I'm always still in trouble again

seems to me that ISIS jumps in and claims responsibility all the time. They seem pretty desperate to look more powerful and widespread than they actually are. It could turn out that this guy did join them for some reason, but I doubt it. Something definitely set this guy off. It was not a spur of the moment thing either. He had at least 23 weapons that he brought in to the hotel over a few days and he was in the room for I believe they said 4 days. He even built platforms to stand on to get better angles, and he modified the guns for full auto. This was premeditated. It wasn't a guy snapping. I think Trump had it right, this was pure evil. Not insanity.

But there were zero gun restriction laws that would have stopped this guy. He had already broken several of them.

Not sure I really understand this argument. If he bought the guns legally (which he did), then restricting his right to buy the guns in the first place would have gone a long way in preventing him from shooting people (or at least, make it more difficult to do so). So it doesn't seem correct to say that there are zero gun restriction laws that would have stopped this guy. Yes, he illegally modified the guns after the fact, but then, he also illegally shot people. The point of gun control, as I see it, is not simply to make laws you expect good people to obey, but to restrict those bad people who would break laws in the first place from having opportunity.
