  • Trump went down to Texas

Great right? POTUS makes a visit to Texas to meet with the officials and speak to the people. What negative stuff could the press possible have to say about that? Right?

    Wrong.

It was good that he waited until things died down enough so he wouldn't be in the way.

As a connoisseur of liberal media, the main complaints I have seen are the following:
      - When the disaster was unfolding, Trump wasn't in the Situation Room, he was at his resort.
      - His tweet about the ongoing disaster was a bit bizarre, ending in "Thanks!" as if he was thanking people for praising him or something.
      - Trump talked about the size of the crowd at his Texas visit.
      - Trump didn't actually directly meet with or talk to any of the flood victims.
      - Obama had signed an executive order to ensure structures were built extra-high in flood-prone areas. Trump rescinded that order two weeks before Harvey hit. Because apparently he'll repeal anything so long as Obama signed it.
      - The GOP wants to cut ~$1 billion from disaster-relief funds to spend instead on Trump's proposed Great Wall of Mexico.
      - 20 of the 21 GOP members of congress from Texas voted against federal disaster relief funds being spent when hurricane Sandy hit. But now they want federal money for Texas, because they are selfish hypocrites with zero principles or shame.
"I hate him passionately", he's "a demonic force" - Tucker Carlson, in private, on Donald Trump
"Every line of serious work that I have written since 1936 has been written, directly or indirectly, against totalitarianism and for democratic socialism" - George Orwell

more like liberals tried to stuff the bill full of pork so they can then play the slanderous game you're playing now and claim they opposed "disaster relief".

your list is about as childish, petty and stupid as one can expect from people driven purely by hatred who have long lost their minds.

That false claim has been fact-checked repeatedly over the years since hurricane Sandy and consistently been found to be false.

              From here:
According to an incredibly detailed analysis performed in 2013 by the Congressional Research Service, virtually every cent of the Sandy relief bill was related to damage from that storm...

As the CRS determined, every provision was justified either as relief to the immediate victims of Hurricane Sandy in 2012, as recovery and rehabilitation of buildings and services that had been damaged by the storm, or as preparatory work for the next storm in the same region.

Oh, so not "virtually every cent". The latter is literally the definition of pork.

What the so-called "fact checkers" found was that the claim that 2/3 of the bill was pork was mostly false. That 2/3 of it was pork was an exaggeration but that doesn't mean it wasn't full of pork.

And yet all of the Texas officials have praised Trump and FEMA as doing an excellent job. And they are the ones who's opinions count, not some liberal snob from New Zealand who thinks he knows more about the USA than the people who live here.

You moron. He went to Corpus Christi, the first place hit by the hurricane. You think there was no damage there?

Well for starters you're a moron for misreading my post as being me saying it as opposed to passing on what the media are saying.

Secondly, you're making the assumption that Trump actually visited damaged parts of Corpus Christi, which doesn't actually appear to be the case - if you read further below the twitter comment I linked to, the reporter asked Trump's press secretary to clarify Trump's claims that he'd seen the destruction "first hand" since the media apparently knew he hadn't visited the damaged parts of the city, and Trump's press secretary apparently explained "He met with a number of state and local officials who have been eating, sleeping, and breathing the Harvey disaster." Obviously that literally amounts to having second-hand experience of the disaster, not "first-hand" like Trump claimed in his tweet. So it looks like the nasty liberal media were right on this as per usual.
