  • Killing gays for being gay isn't homophobic. Warning them they might be killed is

It seems that the MSM is even too embarrassed to report on this as the stupidity is weapon's grade level, hence I could only find verification of it in places like Fox and the Daily Mail.

Source: Professors claim pointing out how Hamas brutalizes LGBTQ people is 'homophobic violence'

Describing Hamas’ brutalization of LGBTQ Palestinians needs to be labeled "homophobic violence," university professors suggested at an event last month.

Associate Professor Maya Mikdashi took part in a discussion at the school titled "Palestine is a Feminist and Queer Anti-Imperialist Abolition Struggle" with University of Illinois professor Nadine Naber on March 20. During the event, Mikdashi pushed back on the complaint that Palestinians and Hamas mistreat LGBTQ citizens, claiming that the assertion itself is a form of bigotry.

"So I’ve been at protests where I’m then told, ‘Don’t you know what Hamas would do to you, if you were in Palestine.’ And we have to start naming this, actually, as homophobic," Mikdashi said, as Naber vocally agreed. "You cannot rehearse violence to queer people and be like, ‘don’t you know … A, B, you would be…' in really excruciating detail. I think we have to actually shift it."

"It's violence," an audience member said.

"It’s homophobic. It’s violent," Mikdashi agreed.

    "Homophobic violence," Naber affirmed.

"And we have to move it from thinking only in terms of pinkwashing to actually understanding pinkwashing as a form of homophobia," Mikdashi said.

Yup. Merely pointing out to morons like this

the indisputable fact that if they were living over there the one's who cause they now embrace and champion would take them to a "roof party" -- as in haul them to the top of the tallest building (often a mosque's minaret) and shove them off, is what is homophobic and homophobic violence rather than being murdered for being gay.

And let's be clear here. They will kill them. If they survive being pushed off the top of the building they will be dragged back up to the top and pushed off again.

But that isn't homophobic violence according to these professors. Warning someone that would take place is what is homophobic violence.

Homosexuals supporting Palestine is like Jews supporting Nazis, or blacks supporting the KKK.

So basically warning LBGTQ of danger from a source is "homophobic violence?" Sounds like the same thinking when they claim sharing the gospel is violent hate-speech.

I guess telling blacks that they should not try to join the KKK because they might be killed is "racial violence" too.

They can prove that the warnings are just homophobic nonsense by just going over to Gaza and protesting for LGBTQ+ rights over there and see what happens.

Look what they said about "pinkwashing" (which basically is being LGBTQ+ friendly but not meaning it). So they are claiming that these warnings are insincere and therefore the equivalent to violence.

They are also pointing out the ignorance of the protestors. So I guess it could be considered insulting, but it is not "violence" or "homophobic" it is just insulting idiots for being idiots. Not all gay people are stupid enough to support muslim extremists who would toss them from a rooftop.

It's not even intended to be a warning. It's just pointing out to homosexuals the irony of supporting a group that openly hates them. And I mean "hate" in the very literal sense of the word.

Nope. The writer of the article missed the point entirely.

When person B says to person A- "do you know what they do to people like you in X" - that is a verbal attack and threat on A by B. And that is the point they were making, not at all what your thread title suggests. There is no excusing of violence against LGBTQ+ persons in Palestine by pushing back on statements of that form.

I see people are still equating "Palestine" and Palestinians with "Hamas", as though the expression and belief of an entire people group can be accurately described by the manifesto of an authoritarian faction.

It'd be like pointing to the Democratic platform and telling someone "This is what Americans want to do to people like you". I imagine more than a few people here would feel like their views and beliefs are not accurately expressed by an appeal to the DNC.

This reminds me of the Yusef Islam (aka Cat Stevens) incident. He was placed on a "no fly" list for pointing out that the "fatwa" death sentence issued against Salman Rushdie was a correct interpretation of Islamic law. He didn't exactly say he agreed with it, or with the bounty placed on Rushdie's head, but was simply pointing this out.

Homosexuals aren't tolerated in Islam - or in Christianity for that matter (as far as I can ascertain). But western culture has begun tolerating everything under the sun (including patronizing mental disorders) and Christianity is part of that soup. Is Palestine part of western culture? Would the laws there tolerate open homosexuality? I really don't know, but it sure sounds dangerous to me.

                          FALSE.

I've called you out on that false claim before. Stop repeating it.

That form of killing was done by ISIS. In the wider Muslim world, ISIS are/were a tiny tiny minority, and other Muslim states were strongly against them. Muslim countries in general are not ISIS. Palestinians are not ISIS.

Google appears to know of zero instances of any gay Palestinians ever being thrown off roofs. You are entirely making this up. And you've been challenged on this before, by me.

Question for you: Is this a deliberate lie on your part? You've been called out on this issue before. Here you say "the indisputable fact". You know that people dispute it, because I have disputed it to you. Are you knowingly lying to us by calling it an indisputable fact when you know it's disputed and has been disputed to you? Or do you just have Alzheimer's, and literally can't remember the last time you were corrected on this? Do you get a kick out of promoting lies for the sake of it? What is wrong with you?

For a ~500 year period, the area that's now Palestine was part of the Muslim Ottoman empire. It was generally very liberal and tolerant.

A reasonable number of Jews moved to the Ottoman empire, because, despite being Muslim, it was nicer towards Jews than many of the countries in "Christian" Europe were.

The Ottoman empire was generally pretty tolerant and liberal towards homosexuality, and art and literature from it tends to be pretty LGBT positive. Wikipedia comments:

Gender and sexual minorities in the Ottoman Empire:

Public norms exhibited fluid gender expressions (particularly for younger males), and attitudes toward same-sex relationships were diverse, often categorized by age and expected roles. Literature and art flourished as significant mediums for discussing gender and sexuality, with Ottoman poets openly exploring same-sex love in the arts until the 19th century, when Westernization led to the stigmatization of homosexuality, potentially influencing the censorship of certain literary scenes.

The area that is now the Muslim country of Jordan was also part of the Ottoman Empire, and its due to that, that Jordan, after breaking away from British control, promptly legalized gay sex. That was 37 years before Israel did so.

Describing Hamas’ brutalization of LGBTQ Palestinians needs to be labeled "homophobic violence," university professors suggested at an event last month.
