      A meeting where people pray.

The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Can they pray while running about the room like a coked-out Rod Parsley while shouting fake glossolalia?

Watching the brief video once again I do wonder if this was nothing more than a PR stunt.

Oooh look at us aren't we holy babbling nonsense?

That’s all it is: overlapping prayer verbiage with incoherent foreign tongues attempt.

I once was in an airport in the bowels of a section of the terminal where it was quiet and isolated. I spotted a Muslim who was praying quietly on his prayer rug toward Mecca where he was least likely to be seen. That’s respect.

And when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard for their many words.

That was precisely the motivation of cdesignpropontsists. You can say Genesis 1-6 was handed down by God himself, but that’s no rationale to teach it in public school.

Okay, back to the two commandments in question that you refused to address. Abstaining from work on the Sabbath and honoring your parents are situational and have zero to do with law enforcement. Courts are law upholding institutions.

Mountain Man, I wanna correct myself. I am a proponent of teaching religion in school. It’d be difficult to sort out exactly how, but I think children would benefit from having a sophisticated understanding of the faiths, their histories—the whole shebang.

That’s not what I asked you. I asked if disruptive “constitutional” behavior is permitted at a prayer meeting.

You made this about the constitution, where I merely said a group of attention-seeking charismatics made some noise on the AZ senate floor. My mom lives in AZ, so this interests me. I never once said it was unconstitutional or that it should be outlawed. This interests me like woke spectacle interests you. Do I fear it? No. Do you fear woke spectacle? Probably not. So why are we even arguing about this? We seem to be in violent agreement on this.

If you disagree, please clarify. I’m up for a reboot.

Francis Schaefer’s son, Frank Schaefer, also converted to Eastern Orthodox later in life. It seems to be a comforting refuge for some evangelicals whose experience left a bad taste in their mouths, so I was just wondering. That doesn’t seem to be the case with HH.
I tried searching around for information but had difficulty finding a specific statement about it, mostly them being more general statements rather than pointing to specific doctrines. That said, I do remember listening to something with him on it (I can't remember if it was his own show or him appearing on someone else's) a while ago, soon after he formally converted, and if I recall correctly he identified the Eucharist as a major motivating factor, basically saying he had reconsidered his views on it and concluded the Protestant viewpoint on it (more specifically on the doctrine of the Real Presence) was wrong. Take this with a grain of salt because this is me operating off memories of something I listened to years ago. I don't think he specified exactly what led him to Orthodoxy over Catholicism, though.

He had no need to show off his faith.
