I'd seen the "Whaddoyoumeme" guy before but never watched any of his videos. I've watched maybe two or three by the guy he called, David Wood. He's a Christian apologist.

On the left you really only have anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian extremists. You had some pro-Israel voices (though it's hard to tell if they were that way for conventional political reasons), but they've given in to the anti-Israel extremists for political reasons.

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., is breaking with progressives on hot-button issues with his fiery support for Israel and calls for Democrats to engage on tougher immigration laws, disappointing some on the left as he shows an independent streak.

He’s also continually scolding Democrats for not pushing Sen. Bob Menendez out of office after he was indicted on federal charges of taking bribes and acting as a foreign agent for Egypt, which the New Jersey Democrat denies.

In the 2022 campaign, Fetterman's ties to Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., prompted GOP opponent Mehmet Oz to tell voters he’d be a mere “sidekick” for the democratic socialist. But Fetterman's recent stances point to an unorthodox brand of blue-collar liberalism, with a dash of outsider populism, in a purple state that is expected to be hotly contested again in the 2024 elections.

In an interview, the first-term Pennsylvania Democrat said his critics shouldn’t be surprised.

“I’m not a progressive,” Fetterman told NBC News. “I just think I’m a Democrat that is very committed to choice and other things. But with Israel, I’m going to be on the right side of that. And immigration is something near and dear to me, and I think we do have to effectively address it as well.”

That would indeed shock me. My bias would lead me to believe they're not leftist (like loony AOC type leftist), but probably centrist, and probably Jewish themselves.

The antichrists described in that passage weren't simply non-Christians who denied Jesus was the Christ, but are also described specifically as schismatics from the early church who were attempting to lead those from within the community astray. As the New Testament scholar Colin Kruse points out in his commentary on the Johannine Epistles, the lie isn't merely that the schismatics denied that Jesus was Christ (though it is that, and particularly the denial that Jesus is the Christ come in the flesh), but that they were calling themselves part of the Christian community while doing so.


Back to the OP, If you don't haunt Twitter/X, you might not be aware that there are several groups who are throwing around the phrase "Christ is King" in replies to others. There are Christians who are vaguely aware that something about the phrase is in the spotlight, but don't know the details, and are simply supporting its legitimate usage. There are actual full-fledged racists with Nazi terminology in their usernames (like 1488 or whatever) and in their comment history, who are using it as code to express hatred of Jews, and are intentionally instigating. The third group is somewhere in the middle...they don't appear to be full-fledged anti-Semites, but they seem to know that some people are using it to express hatred for Jews, and they feel like they need to use it as well because of...reasons...? I guess.
