The woman was afraid not of the other women disagreeing but of voicing a politically unpopular view - and believes the others were as well. No one wants to be the 'bigot' so her theory is fairly sound. I agree that timidity is at fault - but its cause is at issue and her theory that the cause was political correctness seems a good bit more rational than your baseless timidity theory.

Extremely expensive solution to a non-existent problem. No one is dying or ending up in the ER because they can't go to the restroom - and no one should have to foot the bill for your (general) preferences but you.

If people would just go into the restrooms that fit what they look like there would be no outcry. This is mostly a way of seeking attention.
