Er, so some people, many of whom happened to be liberals, were hopeful that there might be some new innovations in energy tech that would mean the world would become less dependent on oil (leading to less pollution, less problems with middle-eastern-oil-nations, less problems with climate change etc)... and you're glad that their hopes and dreams (in this particular instance) were dashed? (Although I note that solar-power and electric-cars look more promising by the day) Are you really such a nasty person that you want people's optimistic hopes for the future of our children and our planet to be dashed, because you get more joy out of seeing "liberals" lose than you care about the children and grandchildren now being born around the world who will suffer due to a worse environment and worse world?

This sort of mindset seems particularly prevalent under Trump: A lot of conservatives seem to hate liberals so much that they are happy to burn down their country if they can annoy the liberals by doing so. What is with you libs and projection?? Large large majority of libs don't care about wellbeing of neighbours, selves, children etc etc with mass import of illegal immigrants, many also kill own children in womb, also give middle finger to conservatives because they still have daddy issues with God.

Why does it surprise you that, having destroyed someone else's civilization and replaced it with your own, those who oppose you are now happily destroying yours? Progressives developed this scorched earth approach to society. You can expect every single ideology in the future to have this trait, for the same reason organisms pass on useful traits.
