Right, it is about freedom of association, and the right not to be pressed into service against your will. We have a name for that...

It was about freedom of religion. Apparently only other religions are free to practice their believes and live out their values. Like I said in the first place, people have no problem with someone who just claims to be Christian, only when they start to act like a Christian and like one.

It has nothing to do with race, but it does have something to do with religion. If someone in the West was raised in a cult and never went to school, I wouldn't hold them to the same standard either. Religious fundamentalism is an incapacitating and debilitating mindset, and religious fundamentalism controls entire countries in the middle east. Their countries don't have a multi-century history of progressive thought and liberal values like countries in the West do. Instead their countries have a history of "ignore what your brains tell do and follow the instructions of the religious clerics, they know best, because God."

could the Nazis have gotten away with that in your view? Would you "hold them in too much contempt to view them as fully responsible for their own actions"?
The Nazis were generally well-educated, not mind-controlled by religious fundamentalism, lived in a country that knew about and understood liberal and progressive values. I don't see that there's any excuses for their actions.

Hmm interesting, I was not aware of those. Thanks.

I saw some amusing poll results on that subject out today. All groups in the US think that Muslims in the US are more seriously discriminated against than Christians in the US are... except White Evangelicals who are totally convinced that they are the victims of higher discrimination than Muslims. The evangelical's persecution complex seems to be hard at work distorting their perceptions of the reality that is obvious to others.

Freedom of Association is the right to form societies, clubs, and other groups of people, and to meet with people individually, without interference by the government. It does not encompass discriminatory denial of service by facilities that serve the general public (known as "public accommodations").

The nazis teied to set up a cult called positive christianity. Christians like pope pius VI and Dietrich Bonehoeffer risked their lives fighting against the nazis by saving jewish lives and daring to stand by the gospel.

your point was that they followed liberal principals, dumbass.

way to try to walk it back

result: your initial rebuttal fails. The muslim countries know about liberal values too and are determined to destroy them. so why do they get a pass but the nazis don't?
